Sorry mate haven't done much testing apart from running my system with all scsi cards and new install of vista. What I can say everything is quick with Q6600 @3.6Ghz 450x8 1800 memory, runs sweet as a nut also with Vista Ultimate 64 I used to get lower 3Dmark6 scores now same as XP with service pack 1 installed. I think I might stay with Q6600 as its 64bit for a while.

It definately runs cooler with less vcore im running on auto with 1.38 @3.6Ghz, need to push to 1.45 for 3.8 and above. Haven't gone above Auto on voltages apart from Vcore to 1.45 or 1.5.

i'll get back to you later.

sweet the boards are actually in stock here at some retailers when i looked now, so i probably will get the board earlier.

how are the monitoring? you know, if you look in everest, what values do you see? vdimm vmch and vsb etc ? what temps?

    regards.

Zip had the rampage and the P5e3 Premium today, so I ordered the Premum. I figured I might as well make the ddr3 jump now.

Is there a more recent bios for the P5e3 Premium than 0204?

I wonder if we will be able to flash the Maximus 2 Extreme version of this board to the P5E3 Prem.? Cross flashing seems to be all the rage at the moment.

FYI infa I dont know if this helps you. Thats a Q6600 @ 3.6GHZ 450x8 with mem at 1800 trd 7. Been on all day hard gaming, will go higher need a little more cooling than I have at min just 1 120 rad covering the CPU and GPU.

trd are adjustable in DETAIL on this board...like everything else :P

this bios are uber rampage bios

just look at CPU GTL dual channel wich formula doesnt have.

Devitto, yes that was what i was looking for

im sad to see that it doesnt show any measures for vdimm and vmch etc..
toobad i like to see what values are set, and asus tends to overvolt their boards too..

Anybody knows if PC3-8500 memory would work on the P5E3 Premium or do I really have to get PC3-1600 memory?

Are you certain? How come at ZZF, it says it's PC3-14400+ only, nothing about PC3-8500? Not that I don't trust you, but I'm just a little confused, that's all. I really wish it would though as I can't spend that much on memory if I go with this board. Thanks...

Well, I just placed the order from Newegg. I hope I made the right decision going with the P5E3 Premium instead of Striker Extreme (790i) (or instead of waiting for the ROG Formula Extreme). Got the PC3-1333 memory from ZZF instead as the same kit costs $70 less at ZZF than at Newegg ($118 vs. $189). Huge difference in cost, but Newegg has the P5E3 Premium for (just) $10 less. I'm a cheap guy, so I shop for the lowest possible price, even if it's just $5 less.

Well just messing around now have same score as before with Asus Maximus, but this is in Vista64 which astounds me as I used to get crap scores with vista against XP. This is at 450x8 memory 1800Mhz 3.6GHz.

I have tightened my memory timings a little to 8.7.6.18 and got better throughput in everest, this is BTW all with volts on default tried cas 7 but will not go into windows on volts I am on at the minute, was trying 7.6.5.18. Will try later once I have installed fan cooler on ram.

This board is running less Vcore than I used to run with auto 1.38V and it runs very cool. Vista with q6600 seems so smooth and responsive a lot different to 6 months ago. It maybe a lot also to do with the 2 scsi controllers and the way I have configured my arrays, but I have never had it so good.

    Devitto looking good!

getting my board tomorrow, CL 7-6-5-16 is easy with good 1800mhz memory.

1.95-2.0v is needed for 1800mhz CL7. try that.. ddr2000 cl7 needs about 2.25-2.30 little to high for my taste, but 2-2.1 are safe for 24/7 just so you know, ddr3 seems to be more durable that ddr2 at overvoltage. no degradation in my mem, allways kept it 1.9-2.0. looking forward to see what my cpu will do on this board. Will report back when its mounted

    cheers!

I tried the settings you suggested but it will not boot at the minute at CL7 but it could be that I should relax trd which is set to performance 7. I have worries about heat from all my Hard drives etc so have ordered 5 x Notua NF-P12 to install in my tj09 including swapping out the centre inlet one, also bought corsair memory cooler, and thanks to soulscollective a Silverstone 4 into 3 bay convertor.

Infa i'm still on the original bios 151 I think there is a new one out there 204 but I cant see a revision list and I dont want to not be able to back flash if there are any issues. I think i'll wait till you play with yours a bit more as there seems hardly anyone who has these at the min. I also don't have a very good understanding of memory subtimings and the effect of each setting, and I will bow to others expierance in this area. Infa do you have the Cellshocks to?

The only problem that has raised an eyebrow has been the MB temp sensor through asus probe reporting MB temp at 191 Degrees. I have felt and also restarted to check temp in bios all was ok. It also takes out the sensor in everest. I think its just an asus probe glitch which has occured 4 or 5 times.

BTW good luck tommorow with your board and keep us posted
