Does anyone know if EK's current blocks work on the new reference 790i boards?
The SB hole spacing looks like it hasn't changed from the 780i...which means there is an EK solution for that. Not sure about the NB and Mosfets?

The NB will be simple chipset block...
The Mosfets will have to be different, special made...

The NB blocks dont have much space...
So if you have about 1/2" tubing it will ba hard to mount the compression fittings.
I have to tell you that till now we have made 3 blocks with measures from another guy and 2 of the blocks did not fit once we made them so we had to repair them or even have to made new parts.
It was S-MAX block and MAX-EX block. So we have decided to make the block only when and if we have the hardware in our hands.

If we didn't have the distance/customs issues to deal with, I'd gladly ship my motherboard and video card to you to use for your measurements and testing!
I got on friday the very first GX2 in our country, so we are off to make the block this week.

Really looking forward to the 790i NB/Mosfet blocks.
The 790i NB and SB will not be a problem.
The mosfets could be made very soon after I get the motherboard.
And as soon as we find space in the capacities...

the NB is still different though. There is no second chip for that 780i block to cool, I dont know if that will be an issue as the block was made to cool 2 chips and the 790i only has 1 for the NB heatsink/block to cool.
Based upon my measurements I sent a message to Eddy for clarification. He said that the NF4 rev1.1 has a fitting range from 49,5 to 60,5mm so it will fit both the NB and SB chips.
Note, the NB/SB 1 will NOT fit b/c it only measures 53mm. A minimum of 55mm is needed to work.
So...all we need are ViperJohn's Heatsinks for the mosfets or EK mosfet waterblocks and it's a rap!![]()

EK Mosfets blocks for the 790i would be the cat's pajamas!! (hint, hint)![]()
hey guys, been running this board over the weekend now and I wanted to let you know some things...
priming for HOURS @ 450 FSB, the NB/Mosfets don't even get warm! they are cool to the touch
this chipset doesn't have the heat probs the 680/780 did and I'm thinking watercooling the board is seriously unnecisary.
these GX2s on the other hand...
2600k @ 5ghz / z68 Pro / 8gb Ripjaws X / GTX 580 SLi
2x Inferno raid 0 / WD 1TB Black / Thermaltake 1200w
Dell 3008 WFP / Dual Loop WC MM UFO
Does anyone know for sure if the MCW30 will work on the NB/SB? It sounds like it would, but I want to be certain.
Also, are there any mosfet solutions yet? Thermalright? How about these?![]()
Yes there is:

John I am glad to see you got a board and produced the mosfet coolers
Getting mine NOW!

The MCW30 will physically mount on either the SPP or MCP of a 790i with some "buts".
On the SPP you would still need a mosfet cooling solution and my Vcore mosfet heat
sinks for the 790i are not available separately.
On the MCP there would be no water tube clearance, even with 5/8" OD tubes, with
air cooled GFX cards that use a two slot cooling solution.
