Why don 't you just stick with 3.6Ghz? You can then run the memory at it's rated speed with decent timings. A CPU clock increase of 100-200 Mhz. is not going to make any noticeable difference.
Now, if you talking about going from 3.6 to 4.0, then that might be worthwhile.
I personally would never flash a bios not designed for the motherboard model, especially if you're not going to get a superior overclock or better stability.

I'm very happy with a cool and 100% stable 3.6Ghz with 4GB DDR-2 800 at 4-4-4-12 timings with my E8400. For now at least. 
By the way, how do you like your Physx card?
