Hey guys thanks for the thread. My card was crazy hot with the stock cooler, but I dropped 40c at load (artifact check) from 76c to 36c with HR-03GT sink.
In a one day stretch I was able to get -
820c/1111m/1920s - 3dm05 26039
BFG 8800gts 512 w/HR-03GT. BTW the BFG I got for $220 after MIR. It has Samsung ICs.
Now I need to look for bios tweaks and the best driver for this card. I'm on 169.44 Nvidia beta. Any suggestions for better drivers? It's for gaming, so I'm looking for the best driver to run games at max OC. Important games to me - Oblivion, Witcher, COD4, Crysis.
Thanks!
Bump, guys any suggestions for the best driver for this card?
At the mo 169.44 are the best but they are still betas and i think it will be some time b4 we get some good whql as the new nvidia cards are suppost to be released very soon. I use 169.44 and to be honest they are much like 169.28 as ive seen no improvement.
Also has anyone got WC on there g92 here ??

169.44 - cool that's what I've been running. Thanks for the heads up.
mrcape: How much of an improvement in your temps and your overclocks have you gained by using the HR-03 GT? I'm on the fence about getting it because it doesn't exhaust the heat and takes up so many slots. My OC right now is at 772/1890/1145 and I'm looking to get 800 core and 2000 shader with idle and load temps of 45 and 57.
I'm getting temps between 34-47c idle-full load running a DD IONE & DD TDX both on a single loop, 120.3 Radiator w/D5 pump. Still a n00b, just got this thing together, well almost, enough to make a few quick runs:

My Idle/Load temps went from 52c/80c with stock fan at 100% to 33c/42c with the HR-03gt. This is at a fairly warm ambient of 82f. On cold nights it's about 5c less all around.
Max OC passing ati tool artifact check and 3dm05/06 -
stock - 769c/1064m/1907s (52c/80c)
hr-03gt - 808c/1111m/1920s (33c/42c)
Could possibly go higher on all clocks, but didn't test stability once I hit my goals. I think stock was failing purely on temps. Only tried 169.44 driver too.
Hope it helps. Like I said it can probably go a tad higher especially shader.
Also, it is big, especially once you add a fan.
My fan is kept at 60%. I took the stock heatsink off, lapped it and applied AS5 and it didn't seem to do anything for my temps, maybe a few lower at load. What did you use for thermal paste and fan on your HR-03GT?
Don't forget that the frequencies on these cards operate in "domains". They aren't actually set to the exact frequency that you use, they set it to a discrete frequency based on which "domain" the chosen one falls into. Say you set your cards core to 750MHz, the core is actually set to 756MHz. Choosing a frequency from 749-763MHz will give you an actual core speed of 756MHz. The shader and memory frequencies operate in similar "domains". Although you say your shader is set to 1907MHz with your stock cooler, its really 1890MHz. Similarly, when you increased the shader frequency to 1920MHz you are actually running at 1944MHz. By using Riva Tuner and Everest you can see this behavior.
I'm using Riva Tuner and Everest. I'm just reporting the actual setting combination that works, not the domain.
I used the Thermalright paste and Zalman F2 90mm fan.
Another thing to note about the HR-03GT - the tape on the ram sinks is weak. I removed it and used arctic silver adhesive. And I used Microcool sinks on the pwms.

Well sorry for being OT but which program is best showing temp on my 8800 GTS 512mb?
I use TechPowerup GPU-z and it says:
GPU Temperature - 40,3C
PCB Temperature - 36C (What is PCB?)
But in Everest Ultimate it says:
GPU - 48C
GPU Surrounding 36C
So which shows correct temps?

Just broke 15k with rig in sig.
800/1900/1026. Wont get much better without quad. Stock cooling.. fan at 55% manual.
Idle= 42C, Load=60C.
Thanks for your help!

I'm getting 800/2100/1150 (samsung IC) with this puppy. No vmods .( yet ). My 3dmark 06 is 15200 with quad at 3.6ghz. Seems a little low to me.
