i deleted the post, but the romid is easy enough to change anyways

because changing the romid did not work to flash back to maximus, would not program the boot block

You need to use the 907 Bios to get back to Maximus from Rampage.
I also got the "bootblock corrupted" message when trying to use Bios v1004, but it went smooth when I tried the 907 version.

Not true, using AFUDOS ES you can flash any bios to the board.

Is GTL dangerous at all or is it merely a 'setting' that doesn't affect temps or possibly damage any components? I have it on auto and can't get to 3.7 from my 3.6 OC even if I up all my voltages by 3 clicks. Should I just max my GTL or what?

Did you guys ever find a version that allows you to flash back? I PM'd Zen just now, but this MIGHT be one that could work, I have a P5K deluxe so I am not even keen to what you guys are trying to accomplish....

This might, or might not, be a genuine find, but just wanted to help the brothers out....

Please investigate if this is the real deal, and apologies if you have already solved the issue! (too lazy to read through all the pages in the thread)....

The AFUDOS ES versions will let you flash back and forth as much as you want.

EDIT: And that one you linked is fake.

Well ... if I try to flash from Rampage to Maximus using bios 1004 I get a "bootblock corrupted" message and AFU236U exits. If I flash using bios 907 everything is fine.

I haven't tried this with the older 226ES version of AFUDOS.

This might simply be the case of a beta bios not containing a complete bootblock.

its probably what you said, the beta not having a complete bootblock.

i used the 907 as the base for a bios mod BEFORE i found the es version of afudos in an attempt to get back with the tools we had available at the time. anyways to put it short it didnt work and so now we all use afudos. if we could, please kill this subject as it is confusing everyone here but me.
