set manually to 8 or 10 mate, you prolly stil got EIST enabled... no go to set to fluctuate between 8 and 10 that's not possible, it's value 6 and the one you define if you leave EIST enabled...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

I have been lost somewhere. Why are you looking for the correct afudos?
In order to find a reversible way back to Maximus?

H8 to be a wet blanket here, but I changed my sig to "Maximus /Rampage" on the day that I made the conversion

So is there any advantage with the new bios 214?

It's not just that, look HERE. It says "Deactivated Item"...

TigerDirect still has them, but ZZF is out. They better still give us BIOS revisions for Yorkfield (and the 1600FSB chips).

I have 8 gb of ddr2-667 on my Asus Maximus Formula running at the standard 333 Mhz. I have the ram timmings set to 5-5-5-15. The RAM is generic K-Byte 2GB modules but they have the Micron D9 chips. I had these modules in my old gigabyte board running at 4-4-3-9 with no problems at all. After exchanging the motherboard for the Asus (and reading the horror stories about this board and its picky ram requriements), i left the timmings at 5-5-5-15. Will i notice any speed increase, just doing "normal" work in going to a 4-4-4-12 timming or keep the super stable 5-5-5-15 settings

So far the system is very stable at 5-5-5-15

I used to get that same error when I flashed a SLIC edited bios, forced a flash using the old Asus Update and it would work just fine anyway.

Not vouching for it 100% but I never had any problems...

In the normal course of things, you won't notice much - if any - difference between CAS4 and CAS5. The differences will become more noticeable when you are coming closer to peak performance when RAM bandwidth becomes a bottleneck. For day-to-day operations, this condition is almost never met.

Incidentally, I was not aware that Micron made D9 ICs for 2GB modules. Are you certain that is what they are? Can you point us towards a source?

I think that i will avoid any tempation (read: frustration) and leave the ram timmnig alone

As for the source of these modules

I picked up 4 of these from Best Buy of all places...they had K-Byte 2gb modules with ram ic from two different manufactures 1. Specktek and 2. Micron. I grabbed the micron based memory (i know its micron from the M logo on the ram chips) and the model # are the D9HND (7KE22 if that means anything) on the chips. There are no ram heatsinks attached to the modules...so reading the types were easy

    How does 0214 performs ? Is it worth upgrading from 0207 ? I´m on a E8500 and 2gig memory.

I think *Rampage* Formula is good enough

Stilt, can you do a Maximus Extreme to Rampage Extreme bios setup? or is the X48 Board going to have different name and different design?
My Rig can do EpicFLOPs, Can yours?
