last time i called Brooklyn NY Best buy they told me $98 with tax. How much now.

I don't know it was stupid.. I went to the Bay Ridge one and ask the guy how much it was, but all he did was go to the website and show me the $120.00 price tag.. also on the shelf it says $120...

so could it be just a register thing that you can get it for cheaper?

best buy treats every customer like crap. they have the worst customer service ever. the manager at the store near me told me to just stand there like an idiot because none of his employees were going to help him. then i reminded him that bestbuy will replace him in a couple weeks anyway, and that i make more per/minute than he does per/month, and asked him how satisfying his career choices were... i think he was quit a bit more upset than i was when i left

i really wish a bestbuy boycott could be organized. do all your shopping at circuit city, their prices are lower, and their customer service is top notch. and they actually have intelligent people that know about the products and can actually help.

Airflow is easily solved though; a few fans exhaust sucks enough air through the case through all the open airflow holes.

RIGHT... just need good high CFM fans though..

Edit: I agree fuji, the original HDD mounting system was pretty inefficient. Obviously a Frankenstein of parts meant for a different cage. I figure if I ever do get a fourth drive I can just pop it in one of the empty 5" bays.

thats a good idea... turning the HDD cage around like that. the HDD cages are stackable obviously. if you look at the PC-A71B it has the cages stacked. the rocketfish still has the threaded holes on top of the first cage so you can connect them. just take out the floppy cage and you've got 6 drive slots that don't take up any more room.

Yeah I'm going to go and try today. And surprisingly the case weighs like nothing. I moved the box a bit and wow I felt barely anything.

that's really the reason i purchased it. i have TT Armors, and they weigh like 40-50lbs empty. i'd like to start trashing those for these lightweight cases. they are so much easier to move around.

for the weight, it is really the most sturdy a case could possibly be.

Exactly one of the reasons why i got one, my armor... well weighs just as much as body armor would... if not more.

Anyone have any luck with this case in the Twin Cities? I plan on picking one up tomorrow, but here in the home of Best Buy the managers are as bad as anywhere else in my experience, so if I have to try to convince one to drop the price I'll bet it's not going to happen.

The only store in the Twin Cities area that has them for $47 is way down in Rochester. Every other twin cities locations have them for more and are hesitant to price match. You can go ahead and try but that's what I have found out so far. I saw the stock screen with my own eyes at a BB.

now that's EXACTLY what i want...i got rid of my vapo long ago because it wasn't very easy to transport, but with that, you can get a heavy duty strap with a handle and carry it around. is that functional or are you still working on it? if it's working, you need to hook me up.

OMFG... you added a little compartment divider seperating the location of the phase unit from the motherboard... that is the best phase mod I have ever seen

yeah and the light weight of these aluminum cases plus the heavy weight of the phase unit makes a nice medium for a case + phase combo

More like short run of a few to lucky people.
This revision will be sold off soon at a discount compared to next revision, which will be smaller unit, little less on temps though I think, and will have a shorter flex line to avoid the cobra effect.

The 23st BB has none left, and the BB on Broadway had 2 left on the shelf but they were $130.

Woot!

Just managed to sweet talk myself into one for $47.99!!!


I went into my best buy, and it was really busy, I had to wait for like 30 minutes just to get a price check, and it ended up being $119.99. The girl said she couldn't price match because it is against policy. The manager happened to hear as he was walking by, and asked what was going on... he was in damage control mode and just said "yeah we'll price match" and kept going on his way.

She said she would need a store number to match by, and the first one we found was in Murrietta for $71.99. I convinced her to start randomly searching for stores with it at $47.99 so she could match that, but the only one she could find was in Hawaii.

Then, with a stroke of genius I realized that it was probably based on local economy, so I told her search the East Los Angeles region. BINGO! $47.99



I am still trying to figure out where to put it, it is RIDICULOUSLY huge. I mean I could just pick up my 19" samsung LCD and stick it inside the case, along with both my cats, and a couple CD cases.


FYI for those in southern california, the Pasadena store has 3 in stock at $47.99 at the moment.
