You ordered 4 Asus P5E3 Premiums and they were delivered on 2/1/08?

It is 3/7/08 and it still hasnt been released, but you bought four of them on 1/29/08??

These guys have a quicker acces route then normal clients mate... if not via a shop they go straight via Asus... don't worry it's pretty normal ... and I'm still waiting too like you lol
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Is it just me or would the board have scored better if they had run the RAM at 1600 or 1800?!?. They ran the test with the RAM set to 1066!! Send the board to me and I will test it with my 1600 RAM that is sitting in my closet waiting for a motherboard!

    yep.
At least they have dual gtll ref circuits now a weakness on the x38 board, although no insight as to what the options are.
CPU PLL is still the same range minimum 1.50v which is high wjhen intel max is 1.60v
Vttt - FSB Termination Voltage: 1.20v - 1.50v , would bre nice to see a higher ceiling.

Looks better but depends on £

It probably would have scored better but I think the reviewer was trying to do a like for like comparison with the other boards tested rather than giving it all its got.

Quote from 1st page 2nd paragraph.

During the testing of the boards above, special care was taken to ensure that the BIOS settings used matched whenever possible.

Edit : The review link I just posted for Supershanks has the ram up round 1800mhz with an Everest screenie too, it looks impressive too.

Here is another review that details a little more of the voltage ranges.

I think you will find the vtt scale changes depending on the chip i.e 45 ~ 65nm just like my DFI does now.

Yep, looks like a killer board!

only thing i DONT like. and actually the cooling are great...when i had the P5E3 Deluxe board, with the same heatpipe cooling it managed it pretty well, at avarage usage of the comp, it kept it almost 30c, and it was X38 chipset..

ah well, to the point, aswell as the X38 board, it doesnt show any info, there are no sensors for the Voltage, it dosnt show in bios nor everest, i NEED to see what voltage been set, and whats real from bios and what droop i get etc, thats the only bad thing... but as it seems that DFI wont put out a ddr3 board? "romours here on XS" , and no sign of Rampage Extreme, this looks like my new board.

    Oh right
    Auto, 1.20V to 1.50V in 0.02V increments, 1.20V (65nm CPU) or 1.10v (45nm CPU) standard
    from
    ASUS P5E3 Premium Specifications
looks to be just 65/45nm dependent. Maybe a little higher cieling then for 65nm

What range has your DFI got.
I See DFI x48 as the main competition here, at least in my head

    luck

I think off the top of my head 1.2-1.5v with the 45nm & up to 1.6 with the 65nm.

I reckon the interesting thing this time out is maybe DFI will be in a position to launch there X48 boards when ASUS do so we will get both brands at once instead of waiting 2 months for the DFI.

I love DFI but so far the ASUS boards are impressing me, It may finally be time to switch to DDR3.......ohhhh the decisions DFI X48 DDR2, Rampage X48 DDR2 or make the jump to DDR3 I'm torn right now.

    More DDR2 X48 reviews needed

Yep been pondering on that myself. Whilst they might both be ready development wise it depends how Intel dish up the chips.

Think ddr2 will be out 1st:

Reading the reviews do you think they really are holding back as some reviews have the P5e allmost equal with the Maximus extreme, in fact beating it in some places?

I know they said that in some reviews like for like settings, but the difference in price to the old Maximus Extreme is £70. There seems to be no word on the Rampage Extreme

I'm probably going to be a sucker though and go with the P5E3 because I have some Cellshock modules waiting to be used that were bought 2 months back, and by the time I get to use them depreciation would of set in.

I like the fact I should get more life outta my Q6600 at higher than 3.75Ghz maybe until I can source E8500 and clock that to 4.5GHz

Well yeah, but it didn't really get into anything of what's special about the board. But you're right, diversity is good.
