Nope. They only release this to milk some more money from us.

ATI has to get its next gen ready before G100 is released.

Nvidia doesn't need to release cards when it can already outperform amd.

The problem with all this is when nvidia decided not to name the 8800GT and GTS a 9 series, if it was a 9 series, everything would have been better.

G100 (or GT200 actually) cards are rumored to **NOT** include DX10.1 support. DX10.1 is my dream of an improvement over DX10, largely related to FSAA and other issues.

If that happens, then I will boycott Nvidia no matter what, for sheer stubborness that only discourages technological progress with graphics.

Hey Microsoft, hear that? Nvidia refuses DX10.1 support, discouraging many would-be Vista upgraders!

I think i'd rather get another ultra, instead of buying and having a single 9800gx2 which is a xit!

*sigh* What a disappointment. It's been how long since the 8800GTX release?

FFS enough with the sandbagging nVidia, I want a freaking GPU that can at least outperform your 18 month old design, not match or 'come near' it.

If you already have an 8800 series, seems that the 9800's are not worth bothering with.

You've seen its heart and soul earlier this week but today is the day we can get a good look at the upcoming GeForce 9800 GTX in full battle gear. Posing in a super secret, secret room at CeBIT the GeForce 9800 GTX is powered by the 65nm G92-420 chip and is slated for a release on March 25th. As you can see from the photos below the card's cooling system covers the whole front of the PCB with the only ones popping out being the SLI (triple-SLI ready) and (two 6-pin) power connectors. The 9800 GTX is clocked at 675, 1688 and 2200 MHz for the GPU, 128 Stream Processors and memory and has a 256-bit interface so 8800 GTX can happily keep their cards until at least summer. looks nice. If only it has 384bit bus with 768mb of ram again. The cooler temps and higher clockability would surely give the Ultra a run for its money this way. In its current state however, the Ultra is still the better bet.

Your right, but at the same time I imagine nVidia wants to move everything over to a smaller die size/process for the sake of cost. I doubt that they will have trouble getting rid of their stock of 80nm cards, especially if they reduce the prices...

If this 9800GTX is only 400 US dollars (as some websites predict) I want one to see how it will clock... I will not buy a 2nd 8800GTS 512 for my 2nd rig... unless those prices go down the drain...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Better electrical components than the GTS 512, 2x 6pins... does this 9800GTX has something to hide?

I still want to know what's up with the extra 6-pin. Increased overclocking potential and stability?

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

    Yes.
It hides a pair of nicely shaped boobs underneath the heatsink, so that the guys who actually get ripped off by buying it instead of an 8800GTX can have something to play with.
