    IE6 gets 11 pts
installed IE8beta1 on my winxp-vm. it gets 17 pts.

but the first thing i noticed was that IE8 opens new tabs way faster than IE7 does.
my IE7 always hangs for a sec when opening a new tab - the IE8 on the other hand opens new tabs as fast as firefox (nearly without delay). - so there are indeed speed improvements.

jfyi, on my homerig 90% of the time i'm using IE7 as it's more intuitive for me. at work i use firefox portable only.

I use both, firefox mostly. But yes ff wont work on every site. IE is most compatible, sorry guys.

Opera is great also, just can't get used to it for some reason..it is on my HD's though.

Yeah, it took me a while too, but I'm glad I gave it a third chance! Loved it ever since.

About ACID3, the latest nightly (30868) of Webkit scores 90 in it, a bit larger than Opera or Firefox. IE8b1 gets 10.

If I remember correctly ActiveX controls are proprietary controls and in themselves are not standards compliant. Maybe this control was written specifically to give a score of 100 in this test.
Could IE8 final be fully standards compliant? It would be about time. I aint holding my breath though, for I cannot see m$ ever being anything but anti-competitive.

It is a pain having to test web code on different browsers, and tweaking/hacking so that it works on the most popular. Perhaps web developers should code for standards compliance, putting a disclaimer on site stating that the page will not render correctly on non standards compliant browsers. If all web devs did this then I bet it would not be too long before all web browsers were in fact compliant. We have the power, but not as individuals. The fear of losing hits/money seems to override what is in fact the right thing to do. It is OUR Internet not m$'s or Mozillas.

Quantum theory in a nutshell: It's so small we don't know where it is, it could be here, it could be there.

Just 'cos it's legal don't make it right.
