You can't load prior saved profiles with new bioses and expect no problems. You need to clear cmos and start over. Eveything in 1004 seems to be working fine for me.

If only it can play tRD=6 (performance level) then it is worth.
After flashing to rampage the next available rampage bios will be fit
in the usual way or do we have to do all that things again?

Ok i got it but want it to make sure.
If ASUS stops to support formula then this is the way to go...

Stilt, is there any kinda of performance increase over the Maximus bios? Overclocking improvements?
All these hidden bios options...
and i thought that they were only related to different chipset...
so we do not have 2x2 more phases options and the tRD=6 >400 fsb is still a mystery with 2 phases...
maybe only X48/P35 can do it...

phases and tRD/PL is in DFI X38 so i think X38 can do it too.. just Asus didn't open it up in bios until now
---
tRD is also in formula but if i try at 450 fsb for 6 then no go.
Maybe the two phases can help as seen here http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3208&p=3

Hi, Houston we have a problem, flashing back to 0907 didn't solve the FSB issues, whatever I put in gets put back to 266 whatever I do and however many times I do it![]()

So I have my E8400, which one better use ? 0907 or 1004 ?
P.S Maximus Formula non SE rev. 103.
This my system:
Maximus formula bios 907
E6750
Corsair twin2x1024-6400C4
Zotac 8800GT
HD westerndigital 500GB SATA2 16 MB buffer
Nec DVDRW 3520A Pata
Tagan 480WU01
XPSP2
My problem is that memtest86 v2.01 and 2.0 found errors always in the same place.
First I tried this test in default setting. After I changed parameters like voltage ,timing but
everything was useless. Even change slot was useless. So I went to corsair forum and.....
http://www.asktheramguy.com/v3/showthread.php?t=66826
found I wasn't alone has this problem.
But Xp works fine even others benchmarks like orthos (12 hours blend stress cpu&ram) didn't find any errors.
Anyone can help please?
Did you try latest OCCT build and put the slider towards the ram ? ... and really if the rig is stable during gaming and all the stuff you want it to do... I wouldn't mind too much about a test that doesn't work out... I have had the inverse... tested for 12 hours Prime no issues, then did some SuperPi runs, no issues, then I rebooted the rig and openened messenger to talk to my girlie and it BSOD on me lol...and not all software is well coded either...
I hate to say it but this is the same ram (6400C4) that the Striker Extreme had sooo many issues with... Asus bios that is not well coded or SPD wrongly interpreted ? something is wrong for sure... and still RAM guy tells peeps to run 800mhz rated ram at 667 speeds with 4 dimms.. that could be a workaround yeah to gain stability....
What are ya Vcore/NB/RAM/FSB term voltages set to ? doing any OC at the moment ?

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved
Remark : They call me Pro AsusSaaya yupp, I agree
I found another problem I have difficult to install programs. Or program I have already installed doesn't work, I have to remove but after I can't install again!!!!!!
And here someone else had my same problem fixed change memory!![]()

Actually mine seems to, from a cold boot at least, go to the F1 thing with some message about clock core and fsb settings not correctly set, and then if I go into the bios and see strap still set to 400 and fsb 437 and hit F10, then it is then fine, even after a reboot. Maybe this has to do with the same issue you are having? I wish they would get this right. At bios 1xxx you would think that obvious bugs like this would be a thing of the past.

1004 works!
Was a bad flash apparently....
went back to defaults, loaded 0907 then I reflashed to 1004, now it works perfectly![]()

S3 suspend to RAM finally works again!!!
e6600 worked, but after switching to e8400, I couldn't come out of S3 suspend any more and had to start using hibernate (windows XP SP3).
Updated BiOS to 1004 and tested again and it's working fine once again.
Bios 1004
Corsair Dominator 8500C5D 8GB total 5-5-5-15-5-55-5-5.....
Fine tuning settings more, but 1004 allows 5:6 flawlessly from what I can tell.
EDIT:
The new 8500 4GB kits from Corsair rock, they do 2.0v 1081 5-5-5-15-4-50-4-4 on X38, with AI Clock Twist - Strong, Transaction Booster - Disabled (1) on Bios 1004. I would say thats awesome
