Silverstone case with 200mm fans and a Lian-li with 180mm fans. Where did the industry standard go?.

If anything this fine. Bigger fans means more CFM but still remaining silent minus cheap motor noise. This allows for less fans to keep the case cool.

It's progress man. More air, less noise. With fans at least, bigger is just better.

    Ed- Beat me to it.

A slender tower of brushed black aluminium is the new offering on show here at CeBIT 2008. Still in the pre-production sample stages with improvements due over the coming months the tower features four optical drive bays, opening out from the sides of the chassis. Inside the tower the layout is anything but ordinary. There are four 3.5” drive bays down the bottom; the motherboard tray comes up next, with three 180mm fans cooling both areas. Further up we have the PSU area, which has the optical drives above it, along with space for a further two 3.5” bays. As specifications go its pretty tasty – even if it is a bit eccentric.

"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."

It seems that Zalman are just now starting thinking seriously at being case-makers.

"Zalman has its brand-new GS1000 chassis here on display at CeBIT 2008. The mix of aluminium and plastic is well-finished and whilst appreciating that it's a pre-production sample, we have been advised the price-point should be in the $150USD ballpark."

A bit ugly imo but highly functional.

Ultra's have that goofy round overhang, I think they are GTX KO editions. The stock cooler is big and beefy like the KO's.

Sometimes, short of writing everything down (isn’t foresight a wonderful thing?) we forget the product name, but you see this time we have an excuse, the new memory cooling solution from Gigabyte is both funky and downright cool. Featuring a self-contained water cooling system the unit is powered by a single fan header on the motherboard and features a pair of fans cooling a small radiator hovering above the dimms. The system features two heat spreader units with allow the liquid inside the system to move the heat away as quickly as possible. The pump on the underside of the radiator is designed to ensure vibration is kept to a minimum too. Without testing it we can’t say how effective it is at this time, and unless you are really pushing your system the need to water cool your memory is down to personal opinion.

hmm they talk about 3 GX2's here

Over on the Foxconn booth, we spotted the new Dreadnought mainboard fitted with Foxconn's 9800GX2 graphics card.

But the poor thing looked so sad on its lonesome, especially as the Dreadnought board is capable of running three 9800GX2 cards! However, we've been assured that at least one more card is on the way to join the party when CeBIT proper starts tomorrow.

The cooling slots on the back of that tripple sli setup are not oriented like the GX2 pictures. The DVI connectors are next to each other and not ontop of each other.
