i went out and i left it for a little longer...
i think at ~4400 Ghz it can be stable with 1.39-1.4...
about the temps probably coretemp it is not reading well...
i am waiting for real temp... to test again...

Hi everyone =D.

I've been doing some research on the temp confusion we all seem to be having with the wolfdales. Coretemp thinks the Tjunction max should be 105c
but from what Im finding from reading the Intel e8000 datasheet Tjmax should be 92.4c, this calculation is based on Tcase max of 72.4c + Ttrip of
20c over Tcase which = Tjmax of 92.4c
Just thought I should put this out there.

Man my first opinion 1.45@4650 is close enough.
I like that you love your cpu (φτου μην τον ματιάξω)
Are you on air? Mine does 4500@1.45 all benches but orthos tested only for 24/7 setup 4050@1.3V
which is a good cpu amongst others just think that for your cpu how excellent it is. It reminds me of
my previous E6750@1.3@3.6 on air.

My Everest Ultimate and CPUID Hardware Monitor both show my idle cpu temp at 28C @ 4.1GHz, while in the bios the cpu temp is 32C? I would probably believe the latter, and add 4C onto the Windows temps.
Some other posters have confirmed that thermal throttling starts at bout 95C, which would bring the tjMAX of 105C into question. I guess we could then add 10C to the core temp readings in Windows, also.

Not a very high load, but enough to bring the temps up 4-8 degrees.

thx Spyrus
i have some issues with my mobo P5k Green... it is degraded...
i cannot be stable at 500 fsb... crap...
I also cannot give more than 1.5 volt on the northbridge... when i put more no boot...
so i am trying at 4410 mhz with 1.37-1.38 but i cannot make it stable...
the same issues i have also at 4000 mhz... it is not stable know...
but at 445x9 it runs at the same volts... 1.2...
so until i will find a desend mobo i cannot search for higher stable frequency...

What's the best budget board for E8400 overclocking? I don't need RAID, or SLI, and will be using a Tuniq Tower heatsink.
If anyone has figured it out, I'd love to know what GTL REF voltages work best with what VTT... like maybe a list or something.
It's taking me forever to figure it out, but for me with 1.12vtt I was getting similar results with 59, 60, and 70... as long as it wasn't set to default b/c default was the worst by FAR.

I'd love to get the GTLs figured out myself. I'm just having a heck of time trying to get much over 500 fsb out of my setup. It could be the board I suppose.
Anyway, decided to play with the small ffts today. Much tougher to get it to run. This is the best I could do at 1.36 vcore. Funny thing is just one more on the fsb and it wouldn't go more than 30 sec. I'll try playing with it more later.
