I think you are being to harsh. I did post a lot yesterday, but I think the number totaled about 20 or less. And some of them were in the speak freely forums and thing like that, so those threads are more forgiving and do not add to your post count. So anything in there should be looked at with more care. Overall I'd say about 10 yesterday probably weren't too much help. But other than those I would say 98% of my posts are worthwhile and are not spam. The majority of my posts are probably short, but that does not mean that they are spam.

Also I am not here just for the f/s section. I am becoming very involved int he volt modding graphics card section. I have increased my knowledge in this area about 20x and have managed to help out many members. I am currently subscribed to several threads in which I look at whenever someone posts/because I am interested! I can see how you do not want people spamming up to 100 to gain access to this thread and this defeats the purpose of this rule in the first place. I have already done one transaction with another member successfully and have come very close to several others.

To be honest XS has basically changed my life. I was also set on going into computer engineering, but after getting involved with the volt mods and similar mods I am now heavily considering a degree in Electrical Engineering. I am a student at University Of Washington so this decision is quite a big one at the moment as I am getting ready to declare a major at the end of next quarter.

Thanks

1) You didn't know Chat didn't count until you made a test post and watched your post count not move. You deleted that post....staff sees deleted posts. You were posting there with the intent of raising your post count to enter FS. You did not return to Chat after that test post was made and deleted.

2) You made 24 posts (all posts will be counted, since you intended to use them to enter FS) in the ~hour before you hit 100.

3) You hit 100 and stopped.

4) You were antsy about FS access in the various posts right after reaching 100.

5) The precedent has been set and we're sticking to it vehemently (because we set it)...you were posting with the intent of gaining FS access which is not what we want for people to do here at XS.

Therefore, it's neither too harsh nor should it be unexpected. The minimum waiting time is 3 months...we'll reevaluate then, but to-date, no one has waited for less than 6 months.

1) I was curious
2) close to 20
3) I had to go to class
4) Who wouldn't be?
5) I was posting on the last day with this intent
6) You win as your the admin but this is truly RIDICULOUS

Scott:Life is a game and you play it by the rules or you lose. That simple.
You come here, supposedly an intelligent individual and you read and learn.
You see how the game is played.
There are 100's of posts on access to the for sale section and many written so to really tell anyone in blunt language how the game is played.
There's no sarcasm here from me but if you took the time to read you wouldn't be in this situation now.
Now maybe the next guy will learn from this..
XS is not a FS section. It is an online meeting area for people who are interested in high end computing that also happens to have a For Sale section.
For Christ sakes people, there is enough here to keep the average person reading here for a solid year in their spare time.
Read,Learn,Enjoy and contribute.
If all your here for is the FS section I'll say it blunt: We don't want you.

Guys seriously if you want to gain any merit of trust and that is what the 100 post count minium is.

Check out my Stacker thread, though if you spam, of course it will only hurt you.

Or even my CM 690 thread, then of course there is the Liquid cooling section, air cooling.

There is the Bandwitdh section.

There is constantly people asking questions that are looking for answers, even if it is someone completely new to PCs, and doesn't know how to turn a PC on you answering their question is still a contribution to the whole and also gives you some level of merit as a poster here, though occasionaly someone does something stupid. Like start a thread that is obvioulsy against policy though their intentions may be good hearted.

Minor Note:

After a good while I have seen the #100 finally arrive as number of posts. Am not worried right now about the F/S. No money, no time, no where to put more stuff. Thanks men. RGone...

Jesus Christ you guys don't understand I dont just want to be here for the f/s section. AND don't just have it with critizing me when you don't know whats going on. A few weeks ago I found out that you needed 100 posts to read the fs section, at the time I was almost half way there, I figured it would be a few more months before I got there. Then I forgot about it till yesterday when I noticed that I was getting close so I started posting. THE GOOD MAJORITY OF MY POSTS WERE INFORMATIONAL AND HELPFUL, There were only a few that could be considered spamming by some people/ also a lot of these posts were similar to the ones around them, so please look at the context if you are going to critize.- still most of these are still informational. Most people post something during the day that could be considered spam if you don't take the context into account. Read for your self.

If it is clocked at 850... I think it will be good, as long as you can water cool it somehow... then maybe you get close to 1k

I don't remember what clocks I got when I had mine, but I know I pushed it quite a bit further with stock cooler, just crank it's fan rpm up in rivatuner.

The more you argue this the deeper the hole you dig. Just stop fretting about it and be a nice member to this community and ask politely in a few weeks time. I never understood why people spam to get into the for-sale forums, it isn't like a secret club with women's phone numbers, naked pictures of said women, and prices of such women... oh wait, IT IS!

Because I enjoy buying and selling things/but mostly shopping for parts and such, I am not going to sit back and let people regard me as a spammer, when I am not. I have no problem arguing if my rep is at stake. The problem with forums is that your attitude toward things can be easily taken the wrong way, as there is not a tone of voice that can be heard, rest assured I mean to cause no harm, I am just concerned...
