    Q6600 and 500fsb, Something special?

Just curious to know how common it is to get a 6600 able to do 500 fsb. I just built my new pc and my q6600 is doing linpack/Prime at 500 no problem but max ive gotten to boot is 514. On a side note, this q6600 does 4ghz at ~1.6375v core bios setting, stable on water. guess im wondering the odds of getting a chip like this, 1out of 10 or more like 1 out of 100?

Wow... it's more like 1 out of a hundred. Care to swap with me? I'll soon be having my SS and I'd love to go over FSB 480 (thats what mine can do primestable)

probably about 1 out of 10 - I'm on my second that does 4.3ghz on SS Phase and both only needed 1.6v to get to 4ghz.

Heres a short prime to show this.

It probably doesnt require that that voltage but just for a quick test...havent really tested any speed below 3.6ghz so im sure 1.4 bios is abit high for 3.5ghz.

I have alot of Vdrop on this board and it bugs me alot...when I do benches at 4ghz+ I set 1.63volts in bios but with vdrop its more like 1.57. makes me nervous idleing with 1.6+ volts.

So it sounds to me like this chip is doing SS numbers on water. That is great to hear coming from s939 its a huge boost in performance not to mention I kinda got out of OCing during s939 because of very bad luck with mobo/cpu's.

    Thanks

Bit off topic but for how long ? 1.64 volts through a CPU 24/7 -- one of the better P35 based mobo's around you own there plus you got a very good clocking CPU but to my liking though, voltages are way over the top... and not good for many newcomers here as they will pump it too and kill stuff...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Nah not used for 24/7. 1.5v for 3.8 24/7 before I sold the chip and board for a tidy profit
