if you want my honest opinion i would say 8GB DDr2 around 1000 or so is killer with vista 64, i have actually grown to like vista with all the testing but it does need the 8GB.
Got a problem with your OCZ product....?

After putting in 4GB w/ Vista 64, I almost wish x86 had never been released. So it gets better? Where/how?

post your bios setup, with that chip I would have expected much higher scores.
What ram do you have and how many sticks?

Well I will say that is a bit overkill. I run 4GB 64bit Vista Ultimate with no swap file. Never had an issue with it, think the highest ram usage I have seen it has used is about 2.5 gig, that is Lotro which use alot of ram.

If you're not a huge bencher/cruncher, there's no reason to get it if you'll never use it.

That being said, I can see your point. DDR2 prices will only drop now too, since we are going to be seeing a lot more of DDR3.

Maybe. Supply and Demand. If supply is low on DDR2 because most have switched to making DDR3 but demand is strong as many have swayed off from upgrading to DDR3 systems, then DDR2 prices won't fall but increase.
