I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the price of a new Q6600 floated down to around $200 come April/May.

Currently Intel has a steady grasp on the Quad-core market so they have no reason to compete/lower prices, but once AMD gets their Phenom B3's out, Intel might be a little more competitive with their pricing.

I personally see April/May as the perfect time to buy a quad.
My choice between the Q6600 and the 9450 are still a matter of how well the x48 treats the 9450, although I really do love the low temps and 12mb cache of the 9450
