Wow I think I just wet my pants.![]()
Thanks for sharing.![]()
Those shots clearly indicates the o/c advantage with 45nm Penryn chips. Even if they're ES samples, Kenstsfield ES never did close to such results.Wonder where avg max stable clock result for Q9450 on air will land at, 3.75~3.9GHz would be nice. I can imagine mobo will be stopping most ppl with 8x multi at higher than that.

C0? Whoa thats been in the works after revision A1 for quite a long time with tweaks and respins then. Can expect high clocks then. What a speedy cycle revision though.

What temps are you getting with 4400MHz and whats BIOS vcore?
Prices on QX are back to Pentium EE prices btw, check VR.

That really sucks! They can do that cus they know the gullible would pay their life away mainly to keep with impressing the crowd
Shamino did get 6GHz out of QX9650 though![]()

too right oohms too right
Yeah, sadly.
I just hope that the initial release paired with the nicer x48's will be able to push it just a little bit further...
It will be rather interesting to see what he can come up with in the coming weeks.Originally Posted by Tony

In my opinion, Yorkfield has been a huge dissapointment.
I'm actually considering moving back to DC (E8400/E8500) as the multi-locked quads (like Q9450) are almost useless for someone who already has a Kentsfield @ 3.6GHz as they just really don't OC that much better due to FSB wall.
You were not supposed to see this.
As quoted by LowRun......"So, we are one week past AMD's worst case scenario for BD's availability but they don't feel like communicating about the delay, I suppose AMD must be removed from the reliable sources list for AMD's products launch dates"
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the price of a new Q6600 floated down to around $200 come April/May.
Currently Intel has a steady grasp on the Quad-core market so they have no reason to compete/lower prices, but once AMD gets their Phenom B3's out, Intel might be a little more competitive with their pricing.
I personally see April/May as the perfect time to buy a quad.
My choice between the Q6600 and the 9450 are still a matter of how well the x48 treats the 9450, although I really do love the low temps and 12mb cache of the 9450![]()

I dunno Drew, I doubt intel will have any price cuts for a while since it makes no sense for them to do so, amd has enough of their own problems, they'd just be cutting their profits if they did so
I would recommend the q6600 simply due to the q9450s having fsb wallls and low mults preventing big ocs, though the e8500s seem to be monster ocers
i can freakin wait for the q9450, i really want to finish my pc and get it over with. btw, whats the fsb wall on the q9450? i want atleast 1600 maybe 1800
Good to see you here Ali... Yeah, I don't see price cuts for another 3-4 months, but I do see them... it's inevitable.
The Wolfdales are no doubt great overclockers. Depending on the performance scaling as opposed to the Q's, those dual cores definitely wouldn't be that bad of an investment... and they may still catch my eye come May.
