    Noobish question.

i've searched all the retailers in the uk i can find looking for sanyo denki san ace 1011 fans and i cannot find them at all.

does anyone know of a site/retailer that sells them?

(or even an international website that imports).

You wont get them in the UK easily if at all. I had to import.

Did you check he had any? He didn't last time I asked around Christmas, be nice if someone stocked them.

You can find many Sanyo Denki fans at farnell.com. Sure you will pay for the postage and probably some customs fee but if you feel that its worth it...

There are still some H1021 (same but lack the speed sensor) on fleaBay - listing no. 160288889933 and I have one new H1011 left - PM me. There are several other threads here on the same subject.

Sorry, my 1011 is gone. Using one and have another for backup. Last I looked there were two H1021 (as noted above) left in the listing on fleaBay.

Should check the XS For Sale section often, there's usually someone selling new/unused/used fans there of high quality. There's one right now (http://www.xtremesystems.org/Forums/...d.php?t=202181) but he is probably in the US.

I got mine unused for about $10 shipped each there, what a deal.

What's special about it, is it the ton of air it pushes? Surely that's an unbearably loud fan?

It's just a really nice 38mm ball-bearing fan. Excellent static pressure for getting through thick/dense radiators (or, well, heatsinks). For as much air it pushes, it's quite quiet, and probably some of the quietest 38mm fans... but even at 7v I can still hear my one over my three medium Yates. I'm kind of picky for noise though.

I'll spoil one result for all of you upfront: the Sanyo Denki San Ace 1011 is king of the hill. And by hill I mean universe. It's really, really good. In addition to its insane empirical results (see below), it makes NO extraneous noises and undervolts like a champ. I have five and they all perform like this and they all start at 4V or lower. They could kick Chuck Norris's ass....silently.

They're ball bearings as well, so you don't have to worry about the sleeve bearing inconvenience. They also perform past their listed specs--something that's exceedingly rare in these SilenX days. Good luck finding any though...and when you do, they're $25 a pop. I also really like Sanyo Denki's Eneloop batteries (hey, I said "stuff" in the title, that implies plurality).
I bought three of these expecting to run them at 12v on my radiator... changed my mind quick. Good thing I got three and a controller for $30 shipped!
