Have you seen the same limit than I do with this card? My card can do only 972-999MHz in 3D tests. No matter what voltage is used. My card is watercooled and core temperature is low (under 30 idle). It doesn't change this "limit". Maybe the bios is limiting these like in 3870.

Pt1t- Did you get any new bios from quess2098?
You are as good as your samples are!

I seem to be limited to 985 as my max clock, same as you with whatever volts. But, i can run the system at 999 it just isnt stable for very long in 3D

    Exactly same issues then...

What is causing this? Maybe somebody can rework bios or something. I believe these cores would do easily 1080MHz on water like my 3870 did.

bleh got the 860 mhz limit in my X2 memory could do 1050.

Does anyone have the new AMD GPU Tool or are you also using the 0.7 version ? It aint working here with the 23 jan drivers.

You need the updated tool lib. file from nordic hardware. they used it in the guide for overclocking 2900 crossfire. It allows amd gpu tool to work. when you click on "set clocks" it will inform you the attempt failed, just ignore that it really does set the clocks, as you can confirm with gpu-z or by simply clicking on "get clocks".

Guys, one of my teammates just pumped 2.4V into his PCIE/crosslinx chip by following the mods above, and now the card is flucked.
While im only a third party in this, i wanted to warn everyone.

Can anyone offer any help as to whether or not it would be a good idea to add capacitors to this card if it will be vModded and if so, how to go about doing it? Thanks in advance!

Annoying remnants of sticky back insulation foam.
Unfortunately i used some horrible for once, and as soon as you try to peel it just shreds. I used actone soaking to remove around my mod points tonight

Other than the sticky crap on the card, those caps are soldered on VERY nicely. Do they increase stability? And what are they? Link or specs?
