ASUS Striker II Formula

System's pretty stable now - 3.825mhz 1.36V 1700DQR x9 multi (ram linked & sync'd @ 850) been priming for 6 hrs 4 cores load (temp < 60) - just one minor prob where it would just freeze on POST after restarting the comp. Just need to yank the power cord outta psu, plug it back in & power on, system boots fine that way without freezing @ POST w/ LED "TEST MEM". Ordered Gskill 4gb (2*2gb) kit & OCZ 4gb (2*2gb) kit for further testing. EVGA 780i is on its way too along with a Rampage Formula in 2 weeks.

But is 0101 mistyped or just older than 0902?

I don't see any eSATA ports on the back by the rest of the I/O ports. Shouldn't that be standard issue now on all boards being made? Well since this is the formula edition, maybe there will be an Extreme edition coming out later.

Since this does have the nVidia chip in it, this might make me rethink getting a Maximus Extreme. Who knows.

Did you notice any FSB overclocking problems with a qx9650 combined with SLI or three way SLI?
We could overclock at 450 FSB with one 8800gtx at 703/1080, but we had hard time overclocking over 360 FSB with 2 or 3 way SLI without any video overclocking.
I found this very strange.
What is your experience with SLI overclocking on this mobo?

Strange, I've had no issues running 2x 8800GTS 512 cards with this board.

I haven't tryed max fsb yet,but I still can't boot with higher than 13 multi with QX9650

Yeah, same here but Marcus seems to have gotten a golden board or perhaps something to do with the 9770. The other problems with the multipliers are fixed though.

When running SLI you need to up the NB volts considerably to get the same FSB as without SLI.


About .1 to .15 increase on NB got me 3D stable when running SLI, compared to no SLI.

I had no such issues, though I was already running 1.3-1.4vNB.

Something that I noticed is that the SB doesn't like high voltages.When using triple SLI with raised voltage on SB,it was overheating(I guess)and causing freazings on the hard disc.

Sweetspots over here are : SB 1.55v NB 1.42v

I think the RAMs might be limiting you so try and put them in Linked - Sync mode and see if it gets better. Also I recommend flashing 1001 bios as it solves most issues.

Try unlinked mode and lock mem on 800, see if that helps.
Try NB 1.42v SB 1.55v
Maybe try some higher voltage for your cpu.

Whats fixed in bios beta 1001?

Ive some problem when booting up the board till the ROG Logo and then its stuck.
When reset the board it will booting good.

And all the released biosses give to much vmem.
My Team Xtreem mem Needs 2.0volts to run. But i checked it with PC Probe II. And it gived me 2.22v / 2.24volts on the mem.
Hope Asus will fix these problems soon.
