Now it's AMD's turn to acquire a physics company

And this finally might make AGEIA's physics technologies relevant...
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."

What a waste of money! And they'll need all the coins they have for upcoming fight with Larabee
Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following the release of Flash Player 10.1.

The only thing that AGEIA ever impressed me with was the control panel examples that came when I had to install some game.

If anyone knows what I am talking about, it had like a box and a cloth and you can move it and the cloth would move realistically.

Put realism like that in games, and they would be more fun.

Plenty of talented engineers at nVidia will work on both software & hardware so the Ageia API becomes a native component of future GPU's.

Only if Ageia's API becomes real open and supervised like OpenGL it has a chance to become important!

Developers will implement only those API's that are licence free, and are broadly supported by hardware!

Thus why I think that future is in open Phisx API as a part of DirectX 11, or open Ageia, or Havok!

Very true. But then again we dont exaclty have monkeys working at Nvidia. As the designer/builder of the lunar module, Tom Kelly, once said "Astronauts are smart, they'll figure it out." Except here I am referring to Nvidia.

I don't really get the whole physics ide in games.
I mean sure it will be easier for gpu to run the given physics instructions but other than that and a few % more FPS, what do you guys expect visually from this?

Game physics will always be exaggerated and over the top, cause unless you haven't noticed real world physics is not all that spectacular, but in fact life has rather boring special effects. (damn you gravity! i want to release my kung-fu on the moon)
