Wow, I am going to go give it a shot... I am playing with Ubuntu 7.10 64 bit on this setup. Quite nice! I have to say, if Vista gets no better, I will be moving to this for my next desktop OS and keep XP around for games.

I'll let you all know my results.. Now I'll have to boot back into xp.... boo...

Just got it installed... Biggest change......... .5 multipliers in the BIOS now! All you E8500 users should be happy now.

Also noticed a few voltage changes, the VCore I choose is the VCore I get now, nice..... There's an AUTO option for DDR2 and MCH now.

I've got screenshots of the changes if anyone wants them.

Also, I needed to do a clear cmos and reset all of my settings, going into the uguru page without doing that froze the bios.

Ohh, also there seems to be some new memory dividers in there as well... Didn't scope them out too much.

Here's some pictures of the changes I could see or thought I saw:

Noticing my temps reported by bios seem to be much closer to realistic. My CPU fan doesn't do the surging thing anymore, it seemed sometimes the bios would report a CPU temp of 255c or 0c and that would cause the CPU fan to goto max.

Also CPU voltage seems to be much tighter.

I would recommend this to people with an E8x00 in their system.

Bed time now, I'm going to let orthos plow on tonight...

New Beta BIOS 16B09 seems to add 20c onto the actual CPU temp of my Q6600 G0. Similar to the 16B04 version. Seems ok when I drop back to the 16B03 version.

BIOS 16 BETA 09 is great.

vDroop and vDrop is much much much lesser.

BIOS Set 1.48 gets me 1.44 idle and 1.41 under load.

I cant seem to get over 540FSB stable though.

Ι don't think that weird temps is a reason to go back. How about 4:5 and 5:6?
Have they done anything with the problem that memory couldn't work past 570?

there is a problem with 16.b09 beta...it won't allow me to raise the multi above default for my 9650...the same happened with 16.b03 and my 9650...i'll try it with 9x but i don't have the best memory for high FSB in my machine....i would have to switch it out to my corsair ddr2-1142 instead....bah!

Should my motherboard be considered for RMA if it doesn't POST at any FSB higher than 465 MHz?

Maybe your CPU has an FSB Wall early..

Is the CPU even affected by the FSB or just the final multiplier x FSB frequency? I read on uabit.com someone suggesting that at higher FSBs, you needed to "jump" to another FSB. I'm guessing this means that only certain incremental increases will work. Is everyone experiencing this?

Yeap, the cpu is afected by the FSB.

Current CPU FSB x Multiplier = Current CPU's MHz.

There is probably a gap btw 465 - 480 (I'am giving an example),try 6x multy to find your FSB limit.
If it stops again at 465,give a higher FSB (for example 8x500).

what are your specs...it could be caused by the cpu or it could be caused by your memory...list all your hardware and what FSB to Memory ratio you are using.
