so... we'll see the X2 quad driver, sometime around the end of its lifetime...

    yay.

Lol, I've always wondered why the companies release such high end cards without full support...

It's ridiculous that we can't get the full power out of a product when we paid the full price to get it...

People that bought X2's knew they could not use them in QuadFire as drivers because they where coming soon after they go on sale. If the people that bought them felt like AMD is taking the piss by doing this and releasing an not fully supported product they should have just have cancelled their orders, or not made any one to begin with. The only voice a company hears is one that has famous peoples faces printed on it, anything else is irrelevant.

But i do agree its not the right way things should be done, but that's a whole another discussion.

Quad Crossfire hasnt been officially supported yet at all, so one card running stock, in regular crossfire will do just as it is supposed to. No scam from amd.

On CrossFireX systems like P45 and X48, dunno about the 3-series, haven't seen any CFX-logos on those MB-boxes.

i think you will just need two x16 PCIe slots to have them run properly. So technically any mobo that meets that will be fine.

I sure as heck hope so, or I bought a second card for nothing Oh, wait, i pretty much did that with X1900's..X1950's...HD2900's...although all are working better than when I first bought them, I hope the trend continues...but we've got new people in charge now, with a not-so decent track record on delivery lately

As of right now the only chipsets that support crossfireX are: 790FX, X38 and X48.

At least what from what they've been telling me in our meetings.
