If I can get my choke question situated, I'm going to have a card that might rival yours in total modifications I don't know if they'll help though, wish I had a way to tell the load on the PWM.

Then start rebuilding the PWM area as some Dutch folks have done (Rol-co for instance)

    Got any good links massman?
"rebuilding" is on the schedule already, but any tips or experience will help.

Take off the mosfets and use an external linear PSU

Edit: i wouldn't bother with that for Vgpu, since these cards are memory limited anyway
    :p

I can link you a few screenshots, but the guys at the dutch forums are not keen on sharing all info right away (which is quite understandible as it is a contest).

    All credits go to Rol-Co

I'll rebench the card for sure, but first I need to put up some good scores for the contest

This time round I'm thinking the Memory circuit needs reworked, perhaps the gpu circuit needs "reinforced" mostly depend on what I find once it's up and running

Saw this too, but be warned - unfortunately the manufacturer sometimes changes the memory and I've seen some cards listed there without the same memory

    Thanks massman and johnny.
I found that forum with the volt mods thread a few minutes ago and was going to start prodding people about the boostermod (one of three words i could recognise in the whole 20 pages lol).
Looks to me like a feed direct into inductor leg right?

Johnny, in your mod is that a 3-phase booster?

Well if some one could help me with finding how to vmod the asus card once I get it, I could get a fellow I know to make the mod for me, but for that I need some info on where to solder, will take photos of the card when I get it monday or later.

na three separate linear amps, VDDR VREF(DDR) VGPU

If I were to do ti again I'd thicken the wires and place the feedback lines at the end of the wire rather than onboard - still did the job

Yeah, my electrical limits are managing to solder a pot onto a leg without tripping the main fuse or stabbing myself in the eye with the iron.

Some great bits of ingenuity there !

Don't forget you have to submit to the ORB to have your score put up in the competition, approved drivers for 03 of course.

    Regards

    Andy

On a personal note, my old Leadtek 8400GS that would do 850/570 last month would not run 500/500 last night, so I hope it's not feeling the stress and is already one of the walking wounded

    Regards

    Sure hope it isn't Johnny!

In going for the uk as well, seeming i live here. May be grabbing the card today. I was thinking of doing this really seriously, but i think i shall just grab one from work and see what it does, and then what i can do to it. I already know this card has spaces for extra capacitors and a few other components. PWM area does look a little weak, but shall work on that.

some of these mods are looking amazing. maybe we should start a thread in the mods section and links to seperate areas?

Meet you uk guys in maplins, lol

I think it more due to owner mishandling than the card itself. I hope you are getting the right version of the Leadtek ?

Welcome aboard SpikeP! The UK has quite a nice little team now.
