    3870X2 voltmod thread

Im assuming the mods will be slightly different, so will treat this card separately. Please can someone post up high-res pictures of the back of the card, and we can take things from there.

    Cheers!

AMD is just stupid with all this limitations and all, first 860 Wall, then no tools to overclock, again, very limited Overdrive, no drivers for Xfire al all, they are like top secret or sth and so on, no mods what so ever, noone even says anything, so I ques this is their secret to or sth ?

I hear you zbo, they recruit a well known overclocker but don't appear interested in cashing in on that relationship or the enthusiast crowd.

Hey we can always run the green cards

Relax guys These have been out only few days now. I'll have mine tonight, so I can start to look Vmods.

Controllers are the same Volterra 1165MF like in 2900XT.

Maybe someone could measure resistance in this spot. (second pin from bottom)

    *dreams*

Please can someone post up a picture of the whole of the back of the card? Was gonna suggest using PCI-E GND, but thats crap if 2 of the voltmod spots are half-way across the card

Which volterra controller are they using? I cant make out all the numbers in the pic. VT1165MF? Apparently it offers software voltage control too

    Cheers!

Thanks Jon! I got that e-mail too just a moment ago

I will watercool this card and try to achieve similar clocks as my 3870CF setup. 1080MHz on water is not so hard to do.

Pt1t, what were the "real" clocks as shown in AMD GPU Tool?
If anything above 985 real, then you have the fastest clocks so far.

Guys, for your memory please be sure to sink them on the backside. Since i did the vMEM mod, I'm getting occasional artifacting/massive screen corruption when running at my previously benchable mem clocks
