Finally i managed to get some free time to test my sucky Q6600.After some answers from you guyz i increased the vcore one more step to test P95 blend test again since i had the 48 min issue.

Now running 3,41@1,4v in cpuz/everest i started P95 blend.This time after 48min i didnt have the same error.This time none of the cores failed.This time P95 program crashed.It stopped working as vista reported.Now i m confused.

Do i need to adjust something else?Do i need more vcore?Plz help me out...

I usually look at chipset/memory for randomly-closing apps. IE has this funny bug where it randomly crashes on "not-quite-stable-but-oh-so-close" cpu's as well.

So what do u mean?Is it a memory or a cpu fault?Should i increase vcore and try again or something else?

Try lowering memspeed, or increase chipset volts and see what happens. Alot of times increasing CPU volts creates a "placebo" effect as the chipset recieves that little bit extra from cpu in communication.

depends on each chip. Duals, quads, doesn't matter, it's the quality of the silcon that matters.

All right I'm stable in SuperPi 32M and for 2 hours in Prime blended (fail after 2 hours) with my quad at 470 FSB with my memory at DDR2-1129! This kicks soooo much ass.......
It isn't %100 rock solid 8 hour Prime stable or anything, but I"m not folding.......so I'll post some BIOS when I finish stability...

BTW I called ASUS tech support to see if they had any info on the chipset voltage limitations, and they said that the limit is 1.95V according to Intel, and that thermals will kill the NB rather than voltage.....which is great considering that I require a huge amount of voltage for stability at 470 FSB with my quad and memory configuration.....

Hi guys I'm just new. I've got this awesome board and an E6750 and I'm looking to get it to 4ghz. I've OC'd it to 3.5ghz stabely using 1 of the recommended OC's here, and I've had a go at Renegade's but my PC won't post.

I *think* it may be to do with the RAM settings but I'm not sure how to go about it. I'm using 2GB Adata 1200+ in dual channel mode with a corsair cooler. I will be starting my water cooling in the next few weeks but I'd like to get settings that I know will boot so I can give them thorough testing when I've better cooling.

I know I'm jumping the gun a little but would someone like to give this lady a helping hand in the right direction?

Bios 2.10V = 2.224V in Everest
Bios 2.08V = 2.XX V in Everest (haven't tried that yet)
Bios 2.06V = 2.176V in Everest
Bios 2.04V = 2.160V in Everest
Bios 2.02V = 2.128V in Everest

In order to get Corsiar's Dominator PC8500 working (as it would hang with Dram Det) I had to:
-use my old PC6400 ram (which worked fine)
-boot into Bios and set Dram Voltage to 2.10V
-Set Transaction Boost: Enable, Boost Level=0
-Reboot to make sure Bios settings took
-Install PC8500 Ram
-System boots now so, in the Bios I manually set Dram Frequency to 1066MHz and Dram Command 2T
-Dial back Dram Voltage to 2.02V (haven't tried 2.00V yet).
-I think N/S Bridge chipset voltage is set to Auto.

It's Everest's OSD. Go to Preferences and setup your OSD (on screen display...I think)

I just got my HD3870s today and finally was able to boot up. First thing I did was update my BIOS to 0907 which went fine. Then I configured my HDs as RAID, rebooted and then hit Ctrl-I to get into the raid manager, I set my Raid 0 array up on 2 of my 500GB WD HDDs. Rebooted and then tried to install XP. First thing I got was a BSOD that says there was an error and to run chkdsk /f. Not knowing what to do I restarted and deleted the raid array and set the configuration back to IDE in the settings. Restarted and windows began to install fine. After it finished installing it rebooted and got to the load screen and I got the same BSOD again.

My specs:

Q6600 G0
4GB Ballistix Tracer PC-6400
(2) HIS HD3870 ICEQ
(3) WD 500GB SATA HDs
Corsair HX620
Maximus Formula

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Edit: Tried removing 2 sticks of RAM, got the same error. Tried 1 stick, same error. So I don't think it's the memory causing the problem. Should I try installing the ICH9R controller during XP setup. Thought I only had to do that when installing RAID, but I couldn't even get to installing XP before getting that BSOD when I had the raid array configured.

Ok here are my stable settings for my Q6600 at 3.8 470x8 with my memory at DDR2-1128 5-5-5-15
BTW, my memory is warrantied up to 2.5V so don't try dialing in the VDIMM right off the bat.....I just set mine to a little less than 2.5V to begin testing, then I'm going to back it down to find the minimum stable settings on the VDIMM.
Less NBV may be needed for others, but my chip seems to need it in order to run these memory settings at such a high FSB.
As long as your temps are ok (I load at 45C) then no harm done.......Intel specs the X38 NBV at 1.95V max

auto voltage on overclocked RAM is just one of the things that could be your problem. That and the 333 strap at that bus speed. Try the 400 strap and set you RAM voltage.

Try setting your transbooster relax to 1......I had to do this in order to get stable with any dividers on an FSB over 415.
You are also going to have to dial in the voltage....I'm surprised that you're even POSTing at all with the memory settings you're running (without voltage adjustments)

It helps for stability when OCing your graphics cards really high. If I drop my PCI-E to 110 MHz I am not stable at my clocks......950/1075 in Crossfire.
