I would say your best bet would to buy an old Dell or HP that someone has abused. It's tough to get a computer in that price range. And if you want great sound, maybe get an older used soundcard. I think theres some audigy 2 cards around for about $35 shipped. Good luck!
lol I can't build new one ! ?
40 mobo 40 cpu 20 ram this is 100 ..
okay 150 Buck maybe ?
EDIT DAM DOUBLE POST
You could try the combo bundles at newegg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2&N=2010200446
+ you can get 256MB for around $20.
If you can deal with mail-in rebates, microcenter has a 500W coolermaster for $9.99. Looks like you can pull it off for $150! Let us know!
Processor, motherboard, and RAM.
Figure ~$120 after shipping.
AMD Sempron LE-1100 + ASrock AM2 Motherboard w/ GeForce 6100 (Combo): $78.78 @ Newegg
Wintec Ampo 1GB (512MBx2) DDR2-800: $22.49 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820161067
CPU/Mobo/Mem/GPU: $101.27
Also, tell us your definition of good sound, because some people might say you'd need at least $100 just for the sound card in order to produce "good sound"

heh, i was just about to suggest that. some of the new motherboards have decent sound. i forget the chip name, but as long as it says hd on the box you should be good if your speakers are mediocre. in comparison the new onboard sound is about as good(if not better) as the old audigies
WOW I like the AMD deal all for 101$ also that 120$ deal
About sound.. I don't want gaming or .. I want hear music with bass and clear
EDIT : what with this banana thing! it keep show with me LOL
you are swearing and getting censored... not really needed when discussing 100 computers lol

A note about the Celeron 420. It is a pretty decent overclocker and the temps stay really low. In fact, even on the junkie board I gave you, people claim to get the BSEL mod on it which would give you a nice boost to 2.13Ghz or so on the processor for free. Plus it is still Intel's great architecture, so you know it will perform well as benchmarks show it has.
If you can get the ASRock Conroe1333 D667 Motherboard for around $54, get that because it is easily worth the extra $7. Here is a guy pulling 2.8Ghz on the 420 with stock cooling: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=229682
If you can pull that off, I assure you that you'll be flying high for what you want to accomplish on this system.

I just built 15 small buisiness pc's........ without software it still cost $320 for the box however.....Some stuff you could do away with...I'm sure you won't need 2 gigs ram but considering it was dirt cheap less than $50........
Rigs i built consisted of
Motherboard Asus P5GC-mx/1333
CPU celeron 430
Ram 2 gigs ddr2 667 kingston
HD Seagate 250g sata
coolermaster cases with 390w CM psu's.
misc dvd player
misc floppy
best bet is to score some used stuff cheap, swap meet, fleamarket, garage sales......Or a whole PC....sometimes people throw em in the trash.

craigslist.com search for "old computer"

I think if you have limmited budget, you can consider the AMD system, they are compartively with low price. The above suggestion is quite nice for the price and good for your use. And you can save some money with the ram, you can get the HP PX976AT DDR2-667 1GB PC2-5300 desktop memory for $7.
The integrated sound in new boards isnt that bad..... you will do fine

After $20 mail-in rebate.
Way to dodge that little detail... what are you? TigerDirect?
Here is a nice deal though. The Celeron 420 a la Dual-Core for only $9 more. Throw a BSEL mod on that and you have yourself a nice little computer.

Dont know if this will work.
Get a ASUS Sound FXII card or whatever its called from someone that didnt use it. I rekon you could nab on for next to nothing. But need a mainboard that Supports that type of PCI,
I manged to get Platuiman zs 2 for 25 $ but without the front rack it's damaged..
aboud Celeron ... I don't know if I can find it here.. I will check it
also I was thinking in gigabyte with vga for 54 $ and ram 1Gb for 24$
so 54 + 24 = 78 $ the rest for the cpu 22 $ lol
I'm trying harder to find a deals

A sub-$100 build can be done. You've got to be very patient, scour all the deal sites you can, and only buy FAR (free after rebate) or nearly FAR items. It's virtually impossible to do a new build under $100 all in one shot. Odds of having all the parts on sale at the same time are virtually nil.
searching but I got near it
soon I will post what I got.. lol It's fun to build 100 $ system.. no high end any more
