    Just did the 1.1 mod to my bios. Went from 702/1755/1030 to 750/1875/1030. Going higher and the display driver crashes in Crysis, 3dMark and Atitool. at 750/1875/1030 I get 13622 in 3dMark 06 (http://service.futuremark.com/orb/re...0&UID=13493681) Using latest BETA driver from nVidia. Are there any better drivers?

    I did not tamper with the memory timings in the BIOS, only the 1.1 mod.

    What about the Omega drivers? They used to be pretty good.

    Did a quick test of the Omega drivers, I get tearing in 3DMark06.. at stock speeds COD4, Stalker seems to run like a dream though

    Having read throught the entire thread I am unsure of what BIOS to use on my EVGA 8800GT KO. Which is best? Do I need to mod the timings? Can any one help?

    Thanks

    Hey, yea my card was stock 1.1v, i can have it at 774,1940,1015 for about 5 mins then 1 artifact shows up and resets the timer :S at 771 it stays for about 10 mins then resets. at 756 its all good... pitty it jumps down so far.. ah well. i had it going for a bout 2 hours but this is it after 10 mins. (cooler is a accerlo S1 with 2x 120mm 2200RPM fans on it.)

    Now on to CPU ocing, ive had mine at 4ghz b4, but to much Voltage for my liking (over 1.55) at 1.4 i get 3.6 which is good for now. i think ill put that back on now but i think my psu is to crap and making me crash. (650w, 725 peak) TASK, anyone know how good this psu is?

    thanks for everything guys

    There, if you select "automatic Speed, you can play with Tmin, TRange slope and min duty cycle to have the fan speed increasing according to the temperature of the core. The mechanism / thresholds are well described in nibitor itself.

    IIRC for my 8800GT, I have set Tmin to 60*C, TRange slope to 20*C and min duty cycle to 30%.
    As result the fan speed will slowly increase when the core reaches about 64-65 degrees. The temperatures will stabilize at about 75 - 80*C depending of the load, with the fan spinning at about 60-65% at this temps, although in nibitor it says that at 80*C the fan should spin at 100%.

    Thanks man!

    I've tried several bioses and all gave me the same results. The only setting important is the one to have Vcore at 1.1V (your card might already have it with the stock bios).
    Relaxing the memory timings give few extra MHz (~50 MHz IIRC) but it's not worth it IMO. The Qimonda chips already hit their limit at about 1000MHz and giving more volts or relaxing the timing doesn't make a big difference. Might be worth if you bench, not if you game.

    Cheers.

    I will edit my stock bios then for 1.1v

    I tried the loser timings on my Leadtek 8800gt, With stock timings I can get 982mhz stable but 970mhz gives me a better score on 3dmark 06 by 10 points. With the loser timings I can get 1100mhz Stable but 1050mhz gives me the same score as stock timings at 970mhz and 1100mhz gives me 5points less.

    My cores also like that 756mhz gives lower score then 738mhz which seems to be the sweet spot. And the sweet spot on the shaders is 1782 but they are stable up to 1890 with lower score.

    My card came stock with 1.15 on the VCore under load.

    Leaving the stock timing seems to be best unless you just want to show off a higher clock speed.

    I took a look at my Asus 8800GT to see what voltage was stock at my card. It was 1.1v

    Cranked it up to 1.15v, changed the clock speeds to the 8800GT Top speeds:

    Core: 600 -> 700
    Shader: 1500 -> 1750
    Memory: 1800 -> 1950 (to be save @ 2Ghz bug)

    Saved the bios, flashed the bios, got back into Windows, ran 3D Mark 06, and didn't get an better score. In a couple of days i should recieve my Opty 185, then i'm gonna try it again with the stock and the top bios

    Currently my stable clocks are 701/1835/1950 from an eVGA Superclocked edition(650/1620/1950), and was wondering if I flashed my bios and have SLi, do I have to take out one of the cards and do each individually?

    Yes you do.

    Also, what BIOS rev is this?

    This mod works fine

    i have 790/1900/2100 with jetway 8800GT stock cooling

    1.17v vgpu loaded.

    Did someone try "voltage 4 > 1.2v" ?

    The value in the bios is the Vgpu when idle and the card overvolt ~.05 under load.

    But still Pt1t, you have a very good chip to be able to clock 790/1900. I'd also be interested to have your bios to give it a try

    nothing too aggressive on my evga

    I actually downclock gay qimonda ram by 25 mhz from 950 = 3 point 3dmark point loss

    dont trust qimoda RAM oc'ing

    that settings works like a charm in any game so i run 24/7

    Hi guys I just picked up an XFX Alpha Dog card (625MHz core) because I sold my BFG 8800GT to a friend because it had the smaller reference fan. Disappointly it looks like I can't even do 700/1000 in 3Dmark06. My old BFG OC2 did 740 core, 1850 shader, 1060 memory on stock bios, reference cooler. This XFX Alpha Dog won't let me go past 700 core, 1680 shader, 1000 memory. I can't believe the core performs so poorly, even if I bump up the shader or the core 10 mhz, it will crash in the beginning of Return to Proxycon in 3Dmark06...the XFX is supposed already be 1.1v isn't it???

    I've been reading through this thread and could use a few tips with Nibitor, in setting the exact modes I have Extra and 3D as 1.1V but what do I set 2D and Throttle to? 0.95V or 1V

    Does anybody have a good XFX bios premade that has had good results and memory/timings/fan settings etc. I could quickly try (or look at in Nibitor as a guide?) Thanks!

    I don't think the XFX has the 1.1V in bios as default. For sure mine (600 MHz core @stock) didn't have it. My card is not a outstanding clocker too. I am only full stable at 712/1728/1000. I can bench a little higher though but Crysis would crash. But when I said my card is not a good OCer, few people on this forum told me that it was actually not that bad and that they had seen lot of GTs worse than that.

    I'm waiting for Accelero S1 to see if a better cooler will yield better result. If not I may try the volt mod.

    If you are interested here is my bios except that I put the stock values for the speed (600/1500/900). Mine is setted at the speed above. I've set the Vcore at 1.1V and also I have the bios fan mod: the fan idle is 30%, and it will increase according to the temp starting from 30% at 63*C and maxing out at 65% at 80*C (max temp ever seen while I'm gaming).

    BTW, anyone having his GT dying after running the memory at 1000 MHz ? This is few months the card is out so we should have started to see died GT because of the supposed memory bug ...

    Hey thanks a lot, it didn't help my card much as I don't think it's a very good core compared to my previous card (ahhh! ) but it improved the overclock from 675MHz stable to 720MHz stable.

    Has anybody modded their bios to provide 2D and throttling speeds? What is the throttle speed? I was curious but I want to set my 2D clocks to something low like 400/500 and reduce the voltage to 0.95V. Is there danger of the card not booting? I want lower voltage in 2D so the card stays cooler as of course, I am not always gaming.

    There is no 2D or 3D mode on the GT. Only a single mode. I think the only way to emulate two modes would be by using Rivatuner but then you can't change the Vcore so it's not worth it IMO.
