And why is the GDDR3 on Ati cards that bad? Even my freaking 1.4ns memory on my 8600 GT can run at 1025 MHz.

I think Shamino was testing the max freq of his GPU, and didn't want to use high mem clock. Most of these cards can run memory above 999, or maybe not when you run with such a high GPU clock?

From what I've seen, 2900XT's memory can not hold more than 1 - 1.05 GHz when running the core with more than 1170 - 1200+ MHz ... I believe though, that 1050+ MHz memory, can be achieved ...

@Fr3ak: I've seen those crazy runs of yours with the 8600GT, amazing clocks and only on dry ice ! However, it's impossible that the 8600GT manages 1200+ MHz core clock ... That's the difference

I can run 1143 (on air) no problem on SM 2.0, SM 3.0 is another story

On my 2900PRO (basically XT) I can bench 1100mhz on air, stock cooler and stock volts no problem. The stock vgpu is 1.2 on my card.

well i used 470Uf/6.3v solid caps from a old board
and it worked out graet , cascade on naked gpu's -100°C evap and -81°C core .
had to stop becaus after 3minits i got water all over the place
here is a bad pic of the mod
