    What tRFC you are running? My board is quite sensitive with 2GB sticks if I use low tRFC timings.

    1.15 is the VID.
    The voltage set in bios was 1.45v...
    very high for a 45nm chip...

    I will test an e2140 on monday on this board

    Also going to test this board with some D9 to test the max fsb. Max fsb i hit so far is 528 with a passiv cooled NB.

    This is it using bios 1.1 and 1000MHz. It's set to default, no time for testing more now, but I did a SPi (4x) for about half an hour and no errors.
    That is using 2.0v.

    First I'd like to say I really like this board given the first impressions I've had with it. It took my old E6600 which topped out @3.5Ghz on Asus P5W DH to 3.8GHz. I am now using this board with my new 8400 and as most of us are aware, booting @4.5Ghz is not a big deal with this combination. Mine is currently Orthos stable 11hrs@4.1 and 4.3G, for whatever that's worth, albeit with a little of a high idle temp.
    Having said that, I'd like to iron out a few things in order to be on the same page with every one about this board.
    Here are my questions:
    1. Still works with E8400 on Bios v.1.1, would upgrading Bios help with further performance and/or lowering temp?
    2. This is sort of a comment: In terms of PCIE Frequency, when I set it to 101...the Sound card doesn't work. Resetting to 100 works. Just in case any one has this problem.
    3. 5xSATA is a little bit lacking.
    4. Setting a lower multi does not work. After setting a multi of 8, or 8.5, the board boots into Windows with a multi of 9 using the same FSB. Is this observed elsewhere?
    5. Here are the voltages for my OC, please feel free to suggest any adjustments that might allow better results:
    FSB@456x9=4.10Ghz
    Vcore=1.3875
    Memv=2.2
    VTT FSB Vcore=1.25
    NB voltage=1.5
    SB I/O Pwr = 1.5
    SV Core Pwr=1.15
    Auto Disable DIMM/PCI Frequency=enabled

    Adv. DRAM Conf:: 5-5-5-15

    Idle Temp ~ 49C
    Load Temp ~70C
    Ambient ~30C
    The system ran Orthos Small for 11 hrs, Memtest passed @ this setting.

    6. There is agonizingly slow boot time particularly @ the "Initializing..." stage. Is this due to something and what can I do to correct it?
    Thanks every one.
    I highly recommend you to update your BIOS to 1.6 or higher and try with that one to see if you don't have issues with sound card/PCI Express This could help with the multiplier too.

    Try upping a bit voltage for FSB VTT to 1.325 or 1.35.
    Also you should up SB I/O Pwr to 1.6 or 1.7, Not the SB core.

    You should disable PCI Express Spectrum for better overclocking. (at the bottom, in the Cell Menu).

    The MSI Neo-FR giving 225C!!! And burned also a piece of the motherboard. This was the motherboard I was going to get too since it's being said that it can boot into 8400 with no problems at all with the earlier bios. DAMN! DAMN! Some say the P5K would boot 8400 out of the box, some say it doesn't so I'm stuck on that too. I don't know what to really get now...

    Dude I'm overclocking a quad core Q6600 to 3.6GHz and I can touch those mosfets with my finger, they're hot but no more than 50-60C. That 220C is bull. Who knows what they did to that board.

    Maybe this is due to the 4 Phase Design on this board, if you are gonna user a CPU with a TDP higher than 85 watts (quads) i guess you should look for another board .

    I will stay with my dual core at safe voltages/frequencies

    Those temps are too high, unless they volt-modded the board i guess it's fake.

    Those temps are way too high. From the look of the board, it's either the Neo Combo-F or the Neo-F, definitely not the Neo2-FR.

    Running a Neo2-FR with a 4.15ghz Q6600, the mosfets on mine read about 110F using an infared temp sensor.

    dropglock first of all, no mosfet can take up to 220C, normally they f*** up at around 100-120C.
    The maximum mosfet temperature I had on a motherboard was 80C measured with a probe but that was when I overclocked a dual P4 prescott to a serious 220W consumption.

    I'm sure it's a fake or they voltmoded the board for some weird 8GHz experiment or stuff like that.

    I don't have time to put a probe there right now, I don't even bother cause when I touch the base of the heatsink there is just warm.

    My guess is that the 193 temp was in Fahrenheit, not celsius. That would make it ~90c, which is easily remedied by either sinks or a fan.

    Thanks Guys. I really hope you guys are correct. I am going to go with the Neo2-FR then, hopefully nothing goes wrong

    Picture of DMM Voltage Measure - Xfire Question Also

    New to this forum.

    Just built new rig using v1.1 Neo2-FR running the B09 bios, also tried 1.5, 1.6, 1.7. Think I finally have it stable on my E6300 @ 3428Mhz, OCZ Reaper 9200 (the black kind with the heatpipe riser) running at 1175Mhz 5-5-5-15-32. Was running memory at 2.3V in Bios but speedfan 4.33 reporting Vram at 2.45V??? Changed it to 2.1 and speedfan still reported Vram as 2.45V, no change. This mem is rated up to 2.4V so it is a bit over spec but it runs fine at the bios setting of 2.1V. I suspect speedfan is reporting incorrectly so would like to poke around and get the real voltage with my DMM.

    Also the vCore selected in BIOS differs ALOT! I have to select 1.525 to get 1.5 idle then that give me Vdroop to 1.46-7 at load. I am aming to get only (Lol) 1.45-6 after vDroop but it just doesnt seem to be possible with any bios vCore selection with any of the Bios I have tried.

    Also, trying to run 2 Powercolor PCS 3870s in Xfire. Singly the cards run at least as 880/1251... but in Xfire if I move the mem settings at all it becomes quite unstable. Wondering if any of you have a similar setup and/or expierence similar problems. For info I have the Moles plugged in to the M/b, Use a Thermaltake Power Express GPU PSU for one card and on 6 pin PCIe power lead from a Hiper Type R 580W, set 2nd 4X Pcie @ 100, 104, 110 also tried sing bridge and bot bridge dongles at same time. Also the X4 slot doesnt seem to communicate well with the x16 slot, very bandwidth limited. Very frustrating!

    Thanx for any help with either issue!

    Why not try latest beta BIOS 1.83. Nice clocks you get there with your 6300. I think speedfan reads vdimm wrongly so you don't need to worry. The Vdroop is not too bad actually. Mine idles 0.02V lower and 0.04V~0.05V lower under load. Too bad, P35 is not an ideal chipset for multi GPU setup. The x4 slot really kills the bandwith especially with a high-end card. You can do further readings here.

    http://www.tomshardware.com/2008/01/...s_pci_express/

    I suggest you get a X38 board if you are serious into multi GPU setup.

    One of the mosfets near the the DIMM sockets is for vDIMM, the other two are for the 5v line.

    Two of the mosfets right above the CPU socket are for vCore, the other one is for the 12v line.

    Don't trust any voltage reading from Speedfan
