I also grabbed myself one. One thing, my Core 0 runs like 10 degrees hotter than Core 1. Not too please with it but the arrogant people at MC didn't think there is anything wrong it running that way, so I couldn't exchange it.

Do the customer service guys have any idea what you're talking about? Take advantage of it if they don't. Just say the heatspreader doesn't make firm contact with the core, causing it to overheat. Or have you tried that?

@PcCI2iminal may i know how your way of apply the thermal compound? thanks

i always clean the surface of the cpu with alcohol and then I apply the thermal paste (only a blob) and I use a flat surfaced card to spread the thermal paste.

i haven't pushed it hard,so i think for 4ghz they will need the same vcore ->1.27v or so and above 4ghz E8500 seems to be a bit better
