    *proven fake* 9800GX2 Benches

    People, keep in mind that
    1) We don't know are these numbers just bs
    2) There aren't any drivers out that would really support 9800 GX2
    3) ..which can mean a lot since this is card that uses SLI-solution

    Bioshock (1920x1200 no AA/AF):
    9800 GX2: 96
    8800 GTS 512 SLI: 115
    8800 GT SLI: 111
    8800 Ultra: 86
    8800 GTX: 77
    HD 3870 : 70

    Crysis (1920x1200 no AA/AF)
    9800 GX2: 37
    8800 GTS 512 SLI: 39
    8800 GT SLI: 37
    8800 Ultra: 26
    8800 GTX: 24
    HD 3870 : 19

    HL2:EP2(1920x1200 4xAA 16xAF)
    9800 GX2: 82
    8800 GTS 512 SLI: 97
    8800 GT SLI: 90
    8800 Ultra: 72
    8800 GTX: 69
    HD 3870 : 46

    World in Conflict(1920x1200 4xAA 16xAF)
    9800 GX2: 29
    8800 GTS 512 SLI: 35
    8800 GT SLI: 32
    8800 Ultra: 32
    8800 GTX: 28
    HD 3870 : 18
    -------

9800 GX2 would have performance of:
    85% of 8800 GTS SLI
    90% of 8800 GT SLI
    113% of 8800 Ultra
    123% of 8800 GTX
    159% of HD3870

yeah right. A card like that should be producing much better reults. Most like BS results there. Plus you need official drivers to test a card.

    Interesting...
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."

ati has a higher clocked duel gpu than its single gpu card, but nv is using an under clocked g92, and since the 670 is faster than a g92 in duel card the oced duel 670 will beat an under clocked g92 duel

but what they do in quad is the real question, but then NV has to have an NV chipset so its a looser by default

It must be better than that... Aren't we expecting it to be the same a SLI 8800GTS?

depends.. if its really a dual pcb solution as rumors claim then they might had to reduce clocks. and yep.. drivers play a big role.

How? IIRC this card is just two 8800GT's sandwiched together like the 7950 GX2 was. That looks like it should be about right. Just a little faster than the Ultra, which this is supposed to replace, and faster than everything else.

Is anyone else not liking this, dual core, dual PCB stuff...
A better single is the way to go IMO but I don't know jack about GPU's anyways...

The dual cards are dueling, but the dueling cards aren't necessarily dual cards.

Just as I predicted, it performs slightly worse than 8800GT SLI, which is all it is; much like the 7950GX2 was basically two 7900GTs in the same package. I don't think drivers are going to improve its performance over 8800GT SLI.

this will greatly improve NV benching since u will have a stable duel (with letter cola) chipset to bench with

I hope that these aren't true. I am very disappointed in both the 3870X2 and the 9800GX2 from what I have seen thus far. I am just itching to buy a new card on the high end of things, but without some serious improvement no one will get my money.

Benchies numbers are considerably high, BUT lower than i expected, or perhaps "Lower than anybody expected"... I hope this won't be the performance for the final card....

this is only a simulation! they did not use any 9800GX2 in the test, and the tester even lower the clock to 550/1800

Well wait just one moment...we don't know that for sure. In this case, they might have actually listened to the consumer this time around and might actually produce a card that actually does better than the 7950GX2 ever did or hoped to be. However, it's still all up in the air, since no one has one yet.

I guess time will tell right?

    Good catch

I was just thinking this whole 2 cpu's on a card might be a buffer to penetrating each others chipsets markets as well.....
