    A 16 months old chipset (780i is pretty much a 680i) + old DDR2 = WR
Intel chipsets + DDR3 + CF really need to try harder!

    []'s
    Simps
DDR2 plus one year old tech on GPU still does pretty good . G80 has owned since day1.
790i SLI + DDR3 + new "monster" gpus pretty soon.

Scales good with gpu too Sham at this cpu clock.

Great work both of you! 30k is something we've been waiting for forever, and who better to do it than this duo here.

You know when you think of it, futuremark should maybe add some kind of award system to those who break milestones and 30K in 3D 06 was aimed by many.
Which makes it a even bigger milestone achieved by Vince...

    just my 0.02 cents......

I think some of these ATI guys have been pushing for 30k for awhile, but me and charles only started pushing for it days after my flight was supposed to leave las vegas this past sat/sun lol
Think if there was solid yorkfield support on 680i when yorkfield was released, 30k would have been done long time ago.

    Thanx! You may be right.
With ULTRAS at 1020mhz+ core/2500mhz+ shader not sure, but below that probably.

I agree milestones like the 100k wall and 30k in 06 are big and should be placed in a hall of fame of sorts.

    Congrats to both of you

How are the issues with cold/multipliers/fsb on the Nvidia reference boards? I'm guessing you were running 344x17 (ORB says 333fsb)?
