I've got a little problem, a few days ago i started testing each tick of my 6 GB Crucial Values with D9GKX. I want to get the best 4 and stick the together, the other 2 GBs will end in my htpc. In Bios i set 2,19v vdimm everything else ram related on auto. After first stick hits 600 mhz memtest ok but 605 was a no go i got a bad feeling that something is holding me back. Nearly the same with the second stick, 600 mhz tested so far. For some reason i had to reset the bios and i don't knwo exactly what settings i made for vnb and vtt, problem is that the second won't even do 580 mhz again, 570 is memtest stable again, but i wasn't able to get my 600 back
OK 570 would be ok for value sticks i thought an moved on to test third stick.
again 580 was possible, nearly the same as the second one so what's going on, seems that the board is limiting me, isn't it ?
So what i need exactly would be some settings where i can start and how i can work on, since i don't have enough time to find out by myself.
NB is watercooled so temps should be ok, so what voltage would be ok for 24/7 ? Maybe i should try some of your Ballistix settings since they've the same ICs on them ?

    But !

    RAM OC is completely sick

    I can run my 4x 1GB Ballistix PC8500 at DDR1273 on performance level 6 @ 2.36V !

I tested all the beta biosses wich are out but the only one and by far the most stable one is the only official one and 1st release

I am running latest beta that corrects the NB volt issue. But according to Bandit up there the "most stable one is the only official one and 1st release".

I would like to give it a try but with NB volt issue this will be tuff...

Actually there is an official release from DFI that is listed as 01-11
This is not a beta bios and it also corrects the nb voltage problem

I think those are the same, I don't think DFI would bring out official bios with same date as the beta. They would @ least change it to like 12.1 or higher.

Quite the opposite imo, DFI often upgrade a good BETA to retail/official with the same dates.

I am having a helluva time now with mine, cannot get 32M pi stable anymore

Ordered up some fancy Geil stuff, be here in the morning, will try that, might be my overclock, dunno, I am crunching stable @ 4GHZ, been completing valid work units for 5 days, but for the life of me, cannot get 32M stable on the ram.

I dident say it was any different apart from the fact its now been upgraded to official rather than BETA.

The big deal is not whether its the same file, BETA or not but rather BETA BIOS's void warranty where as official ones dont.

So, I finally am getting around to installing my mother board last night, and I noticed some scratching around the NB heatsink attachment holes. It is a semi circle around the top hole and a smaller scratch on the lower one. WTF!?! I highly doubt DFI will let me RMA it because they will blame it on me. What should I do? How deep does a scratch have to be to ruin a board? It doesnt look like it went through the copper traces, it just exposed them. What do you all think I should do? I bought it through MoboPro.

I haven't even booted the board yet (ducks to avoid stones thrown from XS members). I got mine in the first shipment. Should I just try and boot it and see if it works? The coating on the board appears to be quite good and it may just be surface damage.

give motherboard pro a quick email and see what they say -if it means that you don't use your board untill you get a reply then its better to be safe than sorry

So bc of the warranty it's better to reeflash the 111 bios, so I'll have to get my floppy out of the box again

I have a couple of questions about X38-T2R. As I understand that the UT version won't be sold in Europe, but I'm interested in the cooling system..
That's one thing DFI does not have in their X38 board, unlike ASUS and GB X38 boards...

So, my question is, can the southbridge sink on the X38-T2R be removed and replaced for another one? For example for a ZALMAN ZM-NBF47 or Thermaltake CL-C0034?
I'm asking about the SB, cause I see there is a dedicated NB cooler with the board and I would like to add a SB sink too.
    Thanks.
    Soon..

This is wierd.. I flashed back to the 11/07 bios..
Didn't see any improvement, so I flashed back to the 1/11/08 one. What do you know? The "Execute Disable Bit" is there now.

Talked to MoboPro, I am outside of RMA period, so YAY!

I will try and boot it and see if it works. Hopefully I wont be buying 2 x38's.

Ninja edit: MoboPro was great to work with, as always. They are doing everything they can to help.

Happy days!, The Geil on the 10:8 divider rocks, very happy to have resolved my problem, sad I had to take out the Gskill, I have been a big fan of them. I however really wanted to keep my overclock @ 4GHZ. Memory is completely on auto at this point, need some time with it to figure out subtimings, any advice is always good.

Edit, guess it would help if I showed auto subtimings...

i dont see why this matters the LT has better cooling since it has no lolercoaster and it has the tower style active cooling so the NB is almost as good if not better than liquid
