Now it's fixed for both P5N-T Deluxe and S2F (ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so...a/S2F0901.zip). Corresponding BIOS version for P5N-T would be public tommorow

Before i found this bug i was wondering why Core3/4 temperatures were so diffrent from Core1/2...

After a recent flash, it no longer will post at all.
You need to put your Asus DVD (at least mine was a DVD) in a DVD drive and it will recover the original bios that was on your MB. I had the same problem and now I'm back to rev. 0402.

Well, the board would never get anywhere even close to running the dvd drive. I sent it back today anyway.

On mine, it recognized the drive and then automatically flashed the old bios.
It will also recognize an A drive but I didn't have anything on a floppy. As with yours, mine wouldn't post but it would do the above following a message about a rom bios error.

On the plus side, you're probably better off sending it back. This board will not overclock worth a darn and I have an E6850. As some have said, it is very stable in it's element but so far, OC'ing isn't an option.

Thanks for all the suggestions but the board has gone back already. But anyway, the board would not show anything on screen and the fan on my Nvidia 8800GTX would spin at full speed until I powered it off. Usually it will only run at full speed during boot up for a couple seconds. So I have a EVGA 680i board coming now along with two 8800GTS cards for some sli action.

Why downgrade , why didn't you buy the 780i EVGa or XFX ? I don't get that... you will be happy with ya E6600 on the 680i , but once you upgrade to a quad ( and you will as SLI needs all the power it can get ) you can encounter major issues... anyway let us know how it runs
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Looks like I finally got this thing stable with an E6600 and 4GB of G.Skill PC6400. I was at a loss trying to figure out the stability issues so I ordered a PCPwr&C Silencer 750 Quad. So far that seems to have done the trick. I was previously using a Silverstone OP650.

I started to mess around with memory speed and timings but the thing was absolutely unstable even when booting so I set everything back to default. We'll see if the thing was able to just idle in Windows Vista all day when I get home - something that it was previously unable to do.

The reason I didn't buy a 780i EVGA or XFX board is because none were available last week. Plus everyone is overcharging for them right now. Plus the 780i has the same chipset as the 680i anyway except for that funky little add-on chip.

it's PCB should be more bulletproof then the 680i and it has the required voltage settings in the bios which facilitate quad OC'ing (once bios and bugs are sorted...) good luck with the 680i, I smoked 2 EVGA's and my ex-Striker runs at my friends at 3Ghz with the Q6600...

I on the other hand am of the opinion that once we have a mature bios, the board will be awesome.

Finally got all four cores to run at full clocks by setting EIST to enabled of all things. This is in bios 0602. Not a fix by any means because EIST is supposed to throttle down all four cores until a load is sensed.
In the screen shot below, all four cores are idle at 3.8 ghz.. Go Figure.

At least they're all at full throttle until Asus fixes the bios the way it should be.

Where you getting your readings from? Check bios readings first to see if they're accurate.

Currently stable at 3.6GHZ vcore 1.4 Intel 6600 Quad G0 Stepping on air

    I'm getting the readings from CPU-Z 1.43.

The load value is determined with P95v255a Small FFTs.
