    Freezone on a QX6700

    Dear experts...

I'm using a Coolit Freezone to cool down my QX6700.

Here's a concern: my current temp, in the image, reads at 48.
Sometimes it can go as low as 42-45.
Any tips on how to lower down the temps, say around 30?

    Thanks
    Here are my specs:
    Asus Maximus Formula
    2GB Dominators
    1200W Gigabyte ODIN
XFX 8800 GTX with Zalman VF1000
    Creative Xfi

First off did you mod to a 120mm fan?
Do you have a decent cold air flow through the device?

Those are about the only two things that can improve it's output.

I can overcome a freezone with a highly clocked dual core, so imo, quads are too much for it (unless they are clocked fairly conservatively).

I think you might be sad if you bought a Thermalright 120 ultra and compared, because you might not like what you learn.

A TEC will allways have a hard time with a quad, as TEC get increasingly inefficient the more heat they ahve to transport, and quads do disappate quite a lot of heat when at max load, especially if you overclock them, when they can easily reach more than 200% of normal heat disappation.

imho I would never use a coolit product unless it was free and then I wouldn't put it on my main system. I am not even sure I would OC a pc with it on.

bravo to coolit's marketing for convincing me...

well, i might go back to air if this is the case or go for water instead...

I just really want cool temps...
