I bought this mobo also, installed windows xp, installed drivers from cd, crashed after sitting on desktop for 30 seconds. tried different ram, video card, disabled onboard sound, no go. tried default settings. no difference. I am using a x3210 quadcore that works perfectly in my other system. I called motherboardpro.com about returning the mobo and was told i wasn't the only one having problems with the new asus mobo, I sent it back, ordered a p5e, sold my 2 8800gt cards, ordered 2 3850 512mb cards. I have tried 3 different nvidia chipset asus mobos, can't get any oc at all, sometimes no default at all, on my quadcore cpu. All this pain in the butt to try and get sli rig up and running. My quad fired up with no probs in the p5e, 3.2 in like 2 minutes. videocards will be here tommorrow. No nvidia for me for a while....if i had not tried 3 times already, i might have the patience to try the evga version...sick of swapping mobo's and installing windows, just to be let down over and over. I only need it to play diablo 2 smoothly anyway....

I cannot get this thing to post with a 400fsb. I have about run out of things to try here. Can someone who has gotten 400fsb or better post their voltage settings please.

    nFo: hehe okay.
Gitsum: i found that with 0602 P5N-T is not stable at FSB400 But with 0402 it was notice that i'm using Yorkfield. With 1st BIOS releases i was able to go even with Kentsfield close to 505 MHz.

But, after all, i found it as stable, and damn decent motherboard for 24/7 daily PC

Yea, where did you get the 0602 bios?

I haven't had any luck running SLI on this board. It just doesn't seem to detect it. (Btw, it's not my sig rig.)

Well, I just killed mine updating the bios. Was using EZFlash from within bios and everything seemed to go fine but now it won't reboot. No post.

Am really curious about this 0602 bios. I'm having a horrible time getting my P5N-T going with SLI and just general OC'ing.

My XFX 780i ran my retail 9650 flawlessly.

The p5n-t not so. Wont oc, multi won't go past 9x. Rock stable at stock though for what that's worth.

I'd also like to know where pmp got the 602...

Wish I hadn't flashed up from 402 to 502. But the website said support for 9650 on rev. 1.02G and 502 so I did.

I'm giving them (Asus) 7 days, then it's back to the XFX board and this one's going back.

I'm an Asus fanboy, but not when the board won't oc.

    Shame on you Asus!!!

Finally got things working after 3 reinstalls of the OS. The system however still randomly powers off. It has powered off while gaming, while installing software, and while doing absolutley nothing in the middle of the night. I have checked temp logs and it doesn't seem like anything is overheating. NB/SB stay steady around 42 C, CPU at about 35C, GPU at about 50C.

Nope. i found it today, that 3rd/4rd core multi is set to x6

New build with fix will be released today.

I wonder if above bug applies also to reference eVGA/XFX 780i boards?

Hi all!... Can any off you stick an E8500 on this board?
I don't have acces to any other 780i board, because Evga and Xfx haven't heard of Romania yet, so I must do with what I can... It's a new build, and a quad isn't justified (I need high clocks, not multicores), and Asus is a bit shy on the phone... they go like: "that revision... that bios... maybe, it might... we don't know yet..."

don't plan on heavy clocks, maybe a 400fsb...

    Thanks... looking forward!

I don't know why I'm so set on an NV chipset... I just didn't like the way Intel pulled this one...

Anyone have an idea how I can fix my bios on this board?
After a recent flash, it no longer will post at all.

Unfortunately, new bios chip or rma or return it to where you bought it.
