I have prepared Maximus Extreme instead of Striker, give me a good news ... i want to use my Striker ...
Hipro5 has tested it with 1401 bios build 28/11, pm him or pmp if you want the latest bios, I only got 26/11 build

Keep me posted OBR what gives...

That would be fab pmp if we have unlocked multi, finally the Striker might justify its extreme price tag over the reference boards
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Build done with nVidia permission , is called 1502. I'm looking 24/7 FSB sweetspot for Yorkfield cored CPUs, will update you soon.

Due to upgraded ROMSIP table, multiplier selection for Extreme CPUs works like it should, EIST as well.

    default 9x in C1 state [6x]

    default 9x in C0 state

    non-default 7x in C0 state as well as FSB400

    7.5x N/2 multiplier as well as FSB400

    non-default 8x in C0 state as well as FSB400

    8.5x N/2 multiplier as well as FSB403

    more to come...

    Question

Why so low frequencies with this BIOS build 1502? I go with 1401 28/12 9x multiplier with EIST enable to 3621! Mhz! with FSB 1610 Mhz and 10x multiplier 4016 Mhz 1610 FSB mhz and more... in test

But when this build be available to the public?

Good job PMP any idea of release as I have a german friend on the hardwareluxx forum that cannot boot his Striker with current 1401 bios from the FTP, his Q6600 works though , but as soon as he pops in the QX it stays dead...

Ladert6 are you using a mobo with soldered bios or the older version ?

I think situation get clear within next 14 days.
For now, 1502 has a little bug with ROMSIP upgrade procedure, which may cause BIOS image to damage, so it could not be released yet. I flashed it twice yesterday due this.

Your friend problem - at which 80h code does it stop ?

CPU INIT displayed on LCD poster is kinda useless, cause it's more than 15 different codes. However, could he check ANY other CPU ?

What is possible, is just LGA socket damage. I've seen several boards with damaged CPU socket, which were not able to run any other CPU. This damage was caused due to excessive heat, quite possible with Kentsfield's.

Clean LGA pins, put Yorkie, fasten socket and try to run without cooler. From technical sense, any BIOS from 1305 would start with Yorkie (ofc limited) anyway.

Yep my thoughts exactly sir though his E6600 now in the board runs fine, he's on 1303 bios... I'll let him reupdate to 1305... and maybe leave battery out to make sure the bios resets correctly ?

    thx for the reply pmp
