i personally dont think that single core is dead yet. this seems to be a decent cpu.

how does this cpu stack up to a celeron 420 clock for clock? would be a nice compare to determine the single core champ.

Both results limited by max. FSB not the cpu itself.

Beside SuperPi i think a A64 with 1024Kb L2 is a bit faster then a Conroe-L. (same clock for sure)
