Well i can try... But my actual voltages and settings passed all regular stability tests (Prime/Memtest/3Dmarks loops).

Also as i said before... I have this system since begining of December and never had this issue until almost 2 weeks ago when i changed may 3870CF for the 8800GTS 512MB... But the graphic card works fine!

    just a curiosity...

Regarding some previous posts for speedstep etc not appearing or functioning in bios if we change multipliers.

even if you are overclocking, rightmark ´s rmclock utility allows the "enable enhanced halt state (C1E), thus overriding any other bios power related functions not appearing...

meaning if i´m not benchmarking and want to save power/cpu life i can use it. I´m rock stable at 3.440Mhz / 1.392CpuVolt, enabling C1E drops my cpu to about 2.5Mhz on close to idle moments.

    how about that.. lolol

ive had some weird problems as of yesterday and this morning. Yesterday during some gaming i got 2 random crashes. This morning i went to boot up and the LCD poster hangs on DET DRAM. Ok, so i boot up with 2 of the 4Gb of memory and it posts. But now it refuses to overclock at all. To make sure the 2Gb i left in were good i put em up to 1066 and ran em on memtest for over an hour and they were just fine. Yet if i dial in the smallest of OC's it will hang again on DET DRAM. Im guessing the NB is going bad or something and wont handle the FSB anymore? Any other possibilities?

I did notice that it no longer likes my other 2Gb of memory though. If i put them in at all it will hang at DET DRAM.

If this board is dieing i think ive had enough of Asus for a while.

I had a similar problem with my first Maximus. But it was worse than that. I couldn't post (hang on det ram) when i installed 2 dimms. It posted only with one.

I've tried 3 different mem sets, 3 bios and numerous settings but couldn't solve it. Turned out to be a faulty mb.

Go do a 24 hour in Prime95 with all cores at 100%, Or a OCCT Custom mixed test for 24 hours.

Doing 3Dmark isn't a stress test. I can run at 4.2Ghz unstable and pass though 3Dmark just fine.

memtest isn't a stress test, its a Simple memory tester. To see if your going to get alot of errors.

If You wanna test memory, Use OCCT on Auto or Memory to test it.

Or You OCCT on Auto or CPU to test the CPU.

To Test the Northbridge, just leave OCCT on Auto.

NB temps and volts were relatively low. Around 2.15v Vdimm and around 1.45v NB. A 90mm fan is blowing in the general area of both of them. Ive been playing with it further and finally got them to all post again. Left FSB at stock and put the memory at 1066 and ran Memtest through 2 loops just fine so its not the memory. But now when i try to raise the FSB with 4 sticks it will stop posting again. With 2X1Gb in i can raise it a little, but anything past 350 or so and it will stop posting again. For now i had to set it to 333 FSB with 2X1Gb, then restart to make sure it posts. Then shut down and install the other 2 dimms. Its running now at 333FSB but i cant touch anything with 4 dimms installed or it will refuse to post again. I updated to the latest bios and it didnt help at all either...

I use Prime to test CPU (Small FTT) and System stability (Blend)

Memtest (DOS) to test memory and 3Dmark06 (loops) for graphics cards, sometimes AtiTool for artifacts.

I will try later OCCT... In the mean time i did a bios downgrade (0903) to shortcut and find if some how it's a bios issue.

Funny thing that i was able to downgrade with EZ Flash (PEN), without any problem....

I would assume your using v1.x and that is still Micron based 8500's.
I honestly dont know, I have never bother'd to look, if ther Micron that might explain some things

Hey does anyone have a WD caviar with 16Mb of cache? Here is my HD tach run in Vista x64 for two of my 500 Gb drives......one has the OS and the other has my page file.

I have my HDDs configured as AHCI.......and I just reinstalled Vista.....last time I ran it in VIsta I got a higher score on both drives with the Matrix manager software installed.
    Anyone have it installed?

Woa.......you guys want to make sure that you install the Matrix Storage Manager from Intel's site.......even if you aren't running RAID. This is required for AHCI mode, and look at the performance boost that I got from installing it alone:

Well you DEFINITELY need to install it then. It has the drivers for the HDDs that allow AHCI mode, which enables certain performance and stability functions such as network command queuing, etc. Here are some FAQs on Inte's site:

    -Bios 0505
-DET RAM after restarts- Won't POST regardless of Memory
-Had to Clear CMOS for 3+ hours to boot
-Can only boot with 1 DIMM upon Clear
-Upon Bios entry again, I set vdimm 2.20~2.32
    -Boots into Windows @1066 5-5-5-15
    -Orthos and Pi Stable

Reboot into DETRAM. Have to clear CMOS for 3 hours again. So I got it back stable again, and flashed to 0907. Reboot to DET RAM...currently clearing CMOS, regardless of memory or "B Slot" trick, I have tried everything. New PSU, 4-pin vs. 8pin 12vEATX, you name it. My whole problem is Non-Overclock with Proper voltages for vdimm, and the same DET RAM restart.

So I called and setup an RMA, but I honestly don't think I can go that long without my PC. It is my life and my life has forsaken me. I deal with the USB Driver BSODs, I deal with the 4th times a charm restart loop, I deal with the fun of the initial out-of-box setup. I can't deal with 2+ weeks wait.

Are the new Revisions currently being carried on newegg? Will I lose my Raid array even though I'm within the same motherboard? I get this up and running and I'll never restart it again!

Edit: Sorry to hijack the thread, I'm just lost and in the middle of a pa120.3 + stacker 810 mod and now my board which is still in old case/system is acting up.

    ???????
Minimum requirements? Post a screenie of the message....I got a message that said I had a newer version of the software, but I haven't installed it yet....only the chipset driver installation. Have you installed this:

    Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility V8.3.0.1013 for Windows 2000/XP & 64bit XP & 32/64bit Vista(WHQL).
This is the only requirement for it.....BTW If you haven't installed that yet, then I would HIGHLY advise that you format your HDD, reinstall XP/VIsta, then install this as the very first item......even before your network card and hotfixes via windows update.
This is one of the most important, if not the most important, driver in the PC.

This is due to the fact that your RAM's SPD data is programmed for DDR2-1066 for whatever timings, and I can guess that this requires more than 1.8V to POST......1.8V is the default voltage for DDR2. I encountered the same issue.
YOu can do two things to avoid this DETDRAM issue:
    1) DOwnload this app and reprogram your SPD data to default to DDR2-800 or 667 5-5-5-15 and change the timings/frequencies manually in the BIOS after POSTing and setting the proper voltage
    2) Buy a stick of value RAM at a local place for $25 or so and put this stick in when you flash a new BIOS or have to clear the CMOS.....POST with this RAM, then change the voltage, then save and reboot, POST, then enter the BIOS and hard shutdown, then install your high performance RAM.
I am currently going with #2 for my RAM until I load XP to reprogram the SPD data. (driver isn't signed, so it doesn't work with Vista x64)

Exclamation No Hibernate (S4) With 4GB RAM In XP x64 Challange

I understand the regular issues with 4GB+ RAM in Server 2003 and XP x64, but what is the fix to enable Hibernate with exactly 4GB RAM used in XP x64 or Server 2003 x86?

Testing on this mobo, OCZ 2x 2Gb RAM (rated: 5-4-4-15 @ DDR800) oC'd to DDR1000 @ 5-5-5-15 @ 2.22v in 1:1 with same 4GHz @ 500x8 as in sig. Also added the RAM in sig along side with good results of performance for a total of 6GBs in dual channel. In 6GB config, Hibernate was disabled in all settings of remapping and such.

Can anybody using (as seen by Windows) 4GB of RAM and able to get the Hibernate Tab in power options or device manager shut down menu? If I enable "Memory Remap" and reboot I get Hibernate but now only 3.37GB as used by XP x64. If I now add the "boot" file fix (MAXMEM=4096) and leave memory remap enabled, I still have use of Hibernate but now only get use of 3.25GB RAM in XP x64. if I now leave the MAXMEM=4096 boot add on and disable memory remap I again still get Hibernate but back to 3.37GB RAM as used by XP x64, yet now the rambench scores are a little better then as before.

I also noticed that ram scores in Everest were worse if kleft to 4GB with scores dropped by as much 164MB/s read & 9MB/s write.

Just wanted to get soem user feedback since I see a lot of you running 4GBs RAM on this mobo.

    Thankx!
