Define stable please
If you are able to run OCCT stable for hours and hours with those ram settings, please tell us what your subtimings and NB / MCH voltages are (as set in bios) and whatever you change with memset from OS. Are the sticks in dual channel ?
Also, does the mobo have the stock cooling, or do you cool the bridges differently, if so how.
Ive noticed a bit of an increase in performance by actively cooling the northbridge,- or rather, with active cooling im now able to OC MCH and FSB without instability from heat issues.
Still, ive never been able to get anywhere even remotely close to these settings stable with this board. Stable beeing 6+ hours OCCT mem+cpu test.

vdroop seems to be a bit better... now fluctuating between (everest read) 1.36 and 1.38v on OCCT full load (BIOS is set to 1.50v). otherwise... looks ok but I haven't tested it further yet.

Guess you've all seen it; Crysis Patch 1.1 is out (more or less officially). Had no problems installing it, but didn't get ANY perf. improvements, its even worse. Well done. Have fun!

hello regarding latest bios f7
i seem to be able to get my memory to go past 1066....
3.3 ghz 414fsb x4 =q6600 ..5 5 5 15 1104mhz 2.66 (**on air) 62 degs tops
hmm....i did have to search for this window in the bios ..and it may also work on other bios versions... im not saying this latest version 'update' allowed this to happen ..but it certainly does allow it to work.
i have not been able to get my ram past 1066 before.
once im settled tuning the ram timings i may reload the old version see if it works
on that..thanks gigabyte team. and people on here too of course.
haha ...and of course prime for a tiny weeny bit longer haha
also the memory multi 3.00a never works for me i have to use 2.66 it seems

Here's hoping it does something to solve or at least ease these crossfire display corruption issues. I 100% doubt it will, but hey, I can hope, right?

Hey.
Bit of a noob here. And i don't understand the difference between the different straps.
2.00 comes with different letters following, whats the practical difference between them?
Hoping the new F7 fixes my cold boot problems... same problem with 3 different psu's.

hmm .... that be the reason i cant get 3.00A to work on fsb settings around 400. probably indeed. wish we had a 3.00 D
still this new bios seems better to me. hows everyone else doing? probably find out more toward the weekend im sure.

usually the tighter (lower) the strap is the tighter the timings on chipsets are. Tighter timings mean the same as for ram -> lower latancy means lower max fequenzy. But to loosen timings also mean you will lose performance and have to increase the frequenzy more to compensate for that fact.
You have to find the sweet spot, where you get a high frequenzy and still have some acceptable timings.
"Thanks but, i was thinking more along the lines of... when should i choose 266 instead of 400"
when i'm on 400fsb i use 2.66d .. i was under the impression that any fsb around 400 you would use the x.xx d straps available.??
2.66d works for me so i havent tried the others recently.
in other words ..i aint to sure..,
Looks like the B strap is the most stable one, atleast for me. TRD goes +1 when i use A or D.
Also, for some reason, the only really stable memory timings for my Crucial Ballistix appears to be 4-7-7-26, TRD 8. With Turbo on, that still gives me about 9000 read, 8500 write and 9000 copy in Everest, with memory at 926mhz, E6750 cpu at 3,7ghz.
Im about 1 hour into OCCT with these settings now. FSB, MCH and PCIE all at +0.2, memory at +0.55
using F7 bios now, i love this board!! i had 2 faulty 780i's and its a good thing i kept this baby beside me.....one thing i noticed from gigabyte, their build quality is among the best i have ever seen!!!!
Can some one tell me what the Performance Enhance mode does?
I am currently running oc'ed:
400x9 = 3.6ghz
800mhz memory
i am currently running it at standard. What do the other two (turbo and extreme) modes do?
Thanks
