Had to use a 8 pin to 4 pin adaptor just for the extra length it gave me. After flipping my mobo tray to make room for a dual rad on the bottom the 8-pin wouldn't reach without dangling, the 1.5" adaptor let me go behind the motherboard.
That alone raised my Mobo sensor temps from 30-35c to 45-48c, and added a LOT more ripple on the 12v line. Long story short, use the 8 pin if you can. I'm looking for an 8-pin extender now.
Good news is, adding the new 220 to my single 120 loop lets me run 3.6/1.48v actual, with loads never getting above 65c...on a 1.3125 VID B3 that's not too shabby. Gonna work on getting those voltages down more today.![]()
