Thanks, its a Silverstone J03, I put 120mm fan in the blowhole and on the sidewindow, MB temps are always around 31C, my old rig had sli and it kept the cards cool....

anyone done any high FSB testing with a dual core and different straps

i bought a mobo from OPB but it feels like a bit of a dog atm

i read the whole thread and it seems it can be pretty buggy with different bioses and i have 0601 on there myself. It's hard to get any idea what the best bios is from the thread and different posts but i can see that some people have had mixed luck with 0601

from my testing so far i was only able to do ~450MHz FSB with 266 strap, ~500MHz FSB with 333 strap and ~530MHz FSB with 400 strap (32M SuperPi stable) >>>> CPU: E6600

i stuck the chip in my favourite Gigabyte X38-DQ6 and boom 560-565MHz FSB 32M SuperPi stable on 333 strap as far as i can tell

how the hell is it possible that i cannot push the FSB to similar levels

RAM OCs are really bad for me too.......i cannot pass stock 900MHz 7-7-7-20 with my corsairs much.....on default settings in bios i can setfsb to about 920MHz 32M Stable.....maaaaaaaaybe even 930 but spotty. If i tighten the timings to 7-6-5-20 i cannot even pass 32M SuperPi at 900 even if i push the ram to 2.16v in bios WTF>>> this RAM easily does more than that at stock volts

has anyone measured the NB temps guys

my boards has a Swiftech 159cu on the NB and 100CFM fan blasting over the area. My idle temps on the base of the heatsink are ~40C and have gone as high as 49C with 1.51v at higher clocks testing ~4GHz or so

seems very hot considering gigabyte pretty much doesn't move from 35-37C during testing following asus (stock heatsink on Gigabyte too lol)

does anyone know how much voltage i need at 9x450 for QX9650? I'm asking cuz running 903 BIOS right now i don't think this version of BIOS is stable either... maybe its a RAM issue, cant this board run 1800Mhz RAM from corsair at 1800Mhz?

you run your RAM at 1.8Ghz? at 1.8Ghz as stated in the RAM sticks, 2.0v is not enough?

has anyone figured out how to go back to older bioses
i want to test 0503 as it seems to be clocking these corsairs well in bachus's benches

btw guys for those of us that need higher vcore IT IS actually possible through BIOS (no shlt) but Asus won't do it.................someone did a review on a board with A REALLY EARLY bios which had vcore up to 2.35v which later disappeared with newer bios updates heh

I just use a USB stick.. put the bios on the stick that you want, and insert and boot up, hit alt + F2 if I recall correctly, and you can choose the bios to install.

Dont forget to clear CMOS, after .. remove power and battery for 15min etc.. then reboot and default .

if they give you all the good stuff in the P5E3, how are they suppose to sell the bloated Maximus Extreme package?

oh right, the dual phase NB / DIMM power supply and the chipset waterblock that can apparently let go and leak at any point...riiiiight
