I've inquired about the BE's as well over at www.ncix.com and was told the first week of January.
As quoted by LowRun......"So, we are one week past AMD's worst case scenario for BD's availability but they don't feel like communicating about the delay, I suppose AMD must be removed from the reliable sources list for AMD's products launch dates"

Yeah I'm still being told that the two I played with were BE's. But my experience is showing the opposite. BE's can't clock decent on HT ref. but do better with higher multi's. Non-BE's are better on HT ref but obviously come with locked multi's.

BE should do better with both, the only difference is BE has no fuses blown for upwards multi's, so in theory you should hit the same HTT with either or CPU.

I've never dealt with these guys before, but I went ahead and bought one from them today. It'll be interesting to see how this chip stacks up against my 9500. I'll keep you guys updated on the outcome.

I ordered off of lagoom. I've never heard of them either, but the reviews on pricegrabber sounded quite postive for them. Also, the shipping to me from Canada was insane. ($25 for 8-10 business days and $38 for 3-5 business). For the $4 extra it cost (total) with lagoom I got ups 3 day shipping. I'll take that I guess.

Nothing to compare this chip to myself. My last computer was a Socket A Sempron 3000+ (yeah, I really needed to upgrade).

Just reading the thread about L2 cache size was enough to know. I love AMD, but lately it seems that this small group of fanatics will go at any lengths to ruin these forums.

Beardyman, soldner-amd64, brother esau.... they make the intel fanboys that crap AMD threads look like angels.

Theres the good bad and ugly on all sides. Supporting any MFG isn't bad in itself but behaving like you're some zealot crusader is ludicrously tot intelligence and spoils every community.

I always find it silly to no end when people behave like that. I mean really, is that how they get across their beliefs IRL? It harkens back to the Mac bashing days, which are even more silly IMHO. There are much more productive ways to get a personal belief across than attacking something via forum post without adding first hand factual information to a debate. Many people simply don't know how to formulate constructive criticism in a way that is logical in written form. If they took time to actually think about what they're spewing and actually try to add something meaningful to a topic, we'd be all better for it. Signal to noise ratio on forums can get bad at times.

My personal informal guidelines for posting are:
    1) Does it bring anything new and informative to the topic?
    2) Is my information first hand, or merely taking the word of second/third hand information at face value.
    3) Is there quantitative results in my post, not merely how I randomly "feel" about a certain topic.
    4) I realize everyone has an opinion about everything. The trick here is that you don't have to agree at all with anyone else's opinion, yet be tolerant of theirs while hoping that they will do the same in exchange.

    Anyways, back to Phenom BE's...

@KTE I will, but I don't think either of us will get our orders until at least later in the week. I noticed that the us (and the canadian site) said they were closed today and tomorrow for the new year's holiday. Assuming (and that's a big assumption of course) that mine get shipped on Wednesday then I may get mine next Monday (three day select shipping)

Here is a comparison of the 9600BE and the 9500 box heatsinks that are supplied. The 9600BE is a much nicer heatsink.

    9600BE Left & 9500 Right:
