I re-installed chipset drivers, no-go. After re-installing AI Suite same thing happens; AI Suite comes up frozzen and stuck on snooze option, also the Asus AI Gear 3 pops up at bottom and is on hi performance mode CPU power 29.66watt. When I try to click off AI Suite it is frozzen, wont shut down, what I have to do is reboot and un-install.

no no not really, just a play on words. I'm running nutin but PCPure in my loop!

now back to another question, ... with my current setup
Maximus, E6850, Ballistix PC2 8500, 88080GT (Vgpu mod), WAter (PC Pure),
    so far I've gotten up to 420 x 9 = 3.78Ghz with a PCMark05 = 8941
    (cpu 9216, mem 7481, graph 16635, hdd 4237)

anyway, should I try to crank it up to 450 x 9, ... or would I be better off trying to get to 500 x 8?

And what about the temps? Which program app. is the most accurate? for the Maximus? and .... is 66c-69c decent for a loaded temp (using coretemp 95.4)?

thanks again guys, ... this group is great. I'm somewhat of an "oltimer" (age = 60) as I starting making Clones back in 1984 and as early as 1985 I was changing the Xtals and running 80286s at 8Mhx instead of 6Mhz ... man, we've come a long way from those days... what a trip!

    Allen
Nice to have you aboard I was changing crystals on 6502's got them running to 4MHz from 1heh. Things have changed, for the better I would max out your x9 settings first, keep snapshots and records of all your idle and load temps and reference your ambient air too. You could have a nice OC in the winter only to fail in the summer. Hope this helps m8.

I'm really ready for a BIOS that has dividers working over a 400FSB........running 1:1 is killing my performance. I can't run 475 stable.....which would give me some great RAM performance.

I've just created a small .xls file to help Asus Maximus overclockers. I've made it to ease up everyone's trial & error, single page so no fuzz arround. Just print it, fill it and enjoy the overclocking ! Hope it helps !

When I start AISuite I get the following AISuite.exe error dialog window immediately:

    Initial CpuUsage DLL Failed

When I click the 'OK' button on the dialog it pops up another AISuite.exe error dialog and immediately loads the AISuite interface on top of it with no information. The second error dialog window reads:

    Assertion failed: m_hLib != NULL, file C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\projects\Ai Suite\Ai Suite\CpuUsage.cpp, line 160

I click 'OK' on that error dialog then I get a third AISuite.exe error dialog:

    Abnormal program termination

I click 'OK' and then AISuite terminates.

Any ideas on how to resolve this? I've look around and nobody seems to have a solution.

This version of AI Suite didn't work for me neither, but i can live with it, i guess. Anyway, i've "upgraded" the Excel file, so now you can have one extra column (i realised crazy overclockers always need one extra), and also added CPU/NB/SB temps. Also added some extra cells for writing your infos (out of printable area). Hope it helps you !

I've just created a small .xls file to help Asus Maximus overclockers. I've made it to ease up everyone's trial & error, single page so no fuzz arround. Just print it, fill it and enjoy the overclocking ! Hope it helps !

I wish you A Happy New Year !!!
