    Anyone overclock a q6600 using a Enzotech Ultra-X

Enzotech Ultra-X . I have a Thermaltake Armor and a 250mm fan and need a lower profile cpu cooler to fit in this case. This cooler gets vey good reviews and I'm planning on changing the fan to a Scythe 120mm 63cf fan because I heard the fan is loud. I would think this cooler would also benifit from the air from the case fan blowing directly on the heatsink. I currently have a Thermaltake Ultima 90 on my cpu but cannot use the 120mm fans on it because they hit the side case fan. I tried the 92mm fans in push pull but they perform about 8 degrees worse than the 120mm set up. I see heat spikes with the Ultima 90 as high as 68c during prime. They last only a second or two and don't register in the core temps log. The ultimas base is very flate so it's not a lapping issue. This is with my voltage at 1.40v 8x440 or 1.520ghz. The Ultima 90 got great reviews but it seems I got a dog cooler or it's just too small to cool a quad correctly without the 120mm fans.I had a TRUE120 but sold it when I bought the new case. It did much better than the Ultima never breaking 58c even at 1.535v. I'm hoping the Enzotech Ultra-X with it's down facing cooler will benifit more from the side fan blowing directly into it. Please let me know if you have this cooler and are overclocking a quad with it, in most reviews it is on par With a Thermalright Ultra 120, Scythe infinity and other larger coolers but doesn't stand as tall and will fit in my case.

This cooler is definitely not on par with the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme. I had a Enzotech Ultra-X and a Q6600 and the temps were in an entirely different ballpark than my current setup which has a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with a 64cfm scythe fan. I'm getting about 10'c cooler under load using the TRUE vs the Enzotech but the fan i'm using now is 1772rpm vs the 2700+ rpm fan that comes with the Enzotech.

I didn't exspect it to match the TRUE120 I had one but it won't fit in my case so I need a lower profile cooler and the Ultima is not cutting it. So I'm gonna try this cooler my 250 mm fan should help some. The 250 fan helps the Ultima some but since it's a tower cooler not as much as the down facing Enzotech. The reviews seem to indicate it matches or nearly matches a Thermalright Ultra 120 non Extreme. Either way i'm gonna find out soon.

I used one on my Q6600 for a month or so, it kept a B3 at 3.2ghz flawlessly (the chip wouldnt do 3.6ghz in any way shape or form, just got too hot.) However with a G0 it should be able to handle quite a bit more

great cooler but is worse than the ultima 90 , Enzotech Ultra-X couldn't keep my quad under 80c at 1.5v the Ultima 90 did alot better.

Yea Its not great with Quads. I would get a True. I am probably gonna grab one myself as summer approaches.

I had one but it wouldn't fit in my new case with the 250mm fan on the side. The Ultima 90 comes very close and matches my old scythe infinity its alot smaller fan.
