it was easy, once i had the conductive ink.

i just scraped the dots with a box cutter, then i filled the gap with crayon. connected the bridges and it worked on the first try.

the extra cache on it dosnt seem to slow it down in terms of overclocking. heres a pic, more to come on the overclocking later.

yes it is a green, new package processor.

you can see the (dots) bridges, but theyre not exposed to make a conductive connection. there is a very think layer of who knows what..

just scratch it off where the bridges are til they are exposed, and make the connection.

kool deal man clears that up.
ive had others on differant forums saying "just fill the pit with condutive junk" isnt no way in hell id even try that as i know it used to fry §§§§ before doing that.

now im just hoping this thorton isnt locked.this may well be my last xp or even amd purchase for that matter due to this lock scare.but ill let it sort itself out first.

Be careful, NewEgg is a big gamble on these chips. I got MIRGA's twice...
i have a 2000 thorton in the mail and have people telling me a million things to get the cache enabled but dont know who is right.
I can confirm taco's findigs but there is no way I'm scraping off the bridges, 256K it's ok with me.

    btw: my 2400+ Thorton is locked (133 x 15)

Like I said before, it's a gamble you have to take. If you get a MIRGA, return it for exchange, that's what I did but unfortunately I got another MIRGA again so I just return it for a refund and lost the 15% re-stocking fee + tax + shipping.

    Good luck!
