Uh, I thought the whole idea behind these projects is to get as many people involved as possible. More people (and machines) means more results processed. Isn't that the idea behind grid computing? This is a direct quote from the WCG site:

The team is already successful. It's ranked number three in the world. The only two teams ahead of us both have much larger memberships. And we all know what motivates the members of one of those teams.

But what good are members if they are not completing and submitting work? How does a lot of inactive computers help science?
