I'm too lazy to read through the entire forum, so can someone tell me how EK's new block stacks up against my D-Tek Fuzion and Apogee GTX?

right now im currently seeing about a 2-3C lower difference from an apogeeGTX bowed. Man accelerators mean i also have to fine tune my pump. RAWR....
Still playing around with the mount tho. I think i may need a few more remounting..
If your talking about the nozzles, i told iany i was going to experiment with it :]

How would you put nozzles on the GTX? Obviously you can't just put one in the barbs as they're on the edges of the IHS. I take it you would have to create a mid chamber, but even then I don't think it would yield good results due to the pin matrix only flowing one way. Interesting though.![]()
If it ain't watercooled, I don't wanna know.
I don't have a GTX, but I did play around with an old MCW-60 base. I think they are talking more of flow spreaders...something that would spread the flow across more pins.
I machined a top for my old mcw-60 and used 9/16-18 barbs which are quite a bit larger than G1/4, put them in the corner, and reduced the clearance between the pins and the top. The block even though it had the larger old MCW-60 pins performed just as well as my fuzion without nozzles.
I think an improvement on the GTX might be to cut channels into the top, and maybe some sort of flow spreader that forces more water to more evenly enter the pin matrix.
LMAO....
Martin... almost tempted to mail you the supreme to see if you can tweek the accelerators, a PA160, and my RD-30 when you start my little project for me.
Only problem is, im worried you'ld have too much fun with a 260 dollar pump setup, a block which you have all the tools to tweek, and not show up on XS for the next few months.
Anyhow, my final calculations are about 4-5C less temps then the GTX on a RD-30 @ 21V. I think thats the sweet spot right now. Need more tuning!!!! RAWR. You definitely need to tune the pump for this block .
Still need to see how the performance chart for dual DDC-3.2 would scale up to an RD-30. If it can do what an RD-30 can do @ 21V, i may retire her.

Wow, I'm beginning to think this block really likes alot of pump, that's a really good gain over the GTX.
No worries here, but I'd rather you do the thermal testing/tweaking anyhow. I get bored easily doing thermal tests. I started doing thermal testing on the Fuzion nozzles and still working on the first one..![]()
I did contact Iwaki about doing some more extensive testing on the RD series pumps, I'd like to gather more information on pump curves at various voltages and the heat dump associated to that. So I may end up doing some Iwaki testing anyhow, we'll see...![]()
well heres what i intially realized..
Heres keeping the ambients at 70C.
@18V [the lowest my S150-24 will go] the block was slightly better then the GTX ~ 2-3C better
@19V around ~1-2C <--- dont know why it dropped I might retest this
@20V gave me ~2-3
@21V gave me 4-5C
@22V+ temps started to rise
Meaning it started getting worse. @ the max setting the tubing from rad -> cpu almost felt like it was going to explode.
i tested loaded temps for each voltage for around 5 min on prime small fft's. Voltage after 24V i didnt take very long, i was kinda worried. My meanwell max is around 26V according to my cheapo radioshack multimeter. And low is 18. i wish it went lower. :T
Incase you guys are wondering about performance, my system isnt breaking 50C loaded across all 4 cores @ 1.456 Vcore.
I want to drop nozzles on the GTX and see how it will perform. Anyhow recomend me a nozzle size for it? I dont think the Quad nozzle will work on the gtx, so i was thinking either the 4 or 4.5mm nozzle? Pump on this system will be a DDC 3.2 /w oclab top.

That's good stuff. I'm going to have to take another look at the RD30 curves. I think Iwaki has some on their site at 24V, and Alex ran one at 18V, I could interpolate at 21V curve and compare it to dual DDCs.
Looks like you've found the sweet spot, great work![]()
I would drop a regular nozzle in the GTX, I think we need something a little differen, like a half moon that would push the flow into the corners more.
Thanks for the results, NaeKuh...![]()

Hi!
If there weren't these holidays we would have already made them.
Right after new year, all companies start to work 7th.
And we will push hard to have them made asap. (polishing and chroming).
Don't worry I am also desperate to make them asap.

BTW is this block suitable for in 1 setup with 8800GTS and 4x OCZ FlexXLC??
or will it proform bad becouse of this?
as much as i love this block, its not the best block in multi block loops.
The restriction on it is a good amount. Remember my picture The pathway of water to slow is the middle accelerators, then it mashes on the thin base plate. The water is thinn'd out to fit under the acceletors and off the side to collect.
Super restrictive but good amount of turbulance...
multi block, i think the d-tek will still win. Expecially since it can get pretty close to performance on this EK. And have a multi role as being non restrictive, and drop in accelerators.
